Explore a variety of stations that will develop student’s mathematical skills 2. Discover how to build a strong foundation of math knowledge with practical, manageable stations 3. Collect ideas for integrating numeracy into developmentally appropriate math stations 4. Explore and participate in hands-onactivities that build your kindergarteners’ understanding and ownership of number sense Setting Up Your Stations Getting Started • What? – 6 math stations (5 CCSS Domains + Number writing) • When? – 3 times a week for 30 minutes – 2 15 minute rotations – Change out station every month • Monday – 30 mins Math Stations – 30 mins Whole Group Math • Tuesday – 60 min Whole Group Math • Wednesday – 30 mins Math Stations – 30 mins Whole Group Math • Thursday – 60 min Whole Group Math • Friday – 30 mins Math Stations – 30 mins Whole Group Math Getting Organized • Square Scraping Booking Boxes that stack • Unifix Cube Clipart to label math station boxes as well as chart – Back to School Freebie: Counting Cubes Clipart for Math (TpT) Getting Organized The Station Jobs Counting and Cardinality Counting and Cardinality September Unifix Cube Exploration & Creation Station October Pattern Blocks with Number Cards November/December Matching Sets with Clothespins January Count Pompoms into Water Bottles Counting and Cardinality February Popsicle Number Stick Matching Ten Frame Sets March Unifix Cube Shape Fill with Number Cards April Build A City May Pool Noodle Number Order Operations and Algebraic Thinking Operations & Algebraic Thinking September Domino Exploration & Domino Parking Lot October Shake and Count November/December Dice Addition January Addition Flashcards with Cubes Operations & Algebraic Thinking February Domino Addition March Find the Sums (TpT) April 10-Take Away Subtraction May Addition Yahtzee Numbers & Operations in Base Ten Numbers & Operations in Base Ten September Animals Exploration & Sort by Animal Scene October Ten- Frame Match November/December Finding 10 January Create Teen Numbers with Base 10 Blocks Numbers & Operations in Base Ten February Write It, Make It, Expand It Base 10 (Base 10 Block WorksheetTpT) March Base 10 Block Stamping April Roll, Draw, Write Base 10 May Place Value Scoot (TpT) Brain Break Go Noodle https://www.gonoodle.com/channels/koo-koo-kangaroo/dinosaur-stomp Measurement & Data Measurement & Data September Vehicle Exploration & Vehicle Color Sort October Button Sorting November/December Which One Weighs More? Then they get the pencil Questions???? Contact Information: Amy Bearden: amy.bearden@rsd.edu Tammy Morrow: tamara.morrow@rsd.edu
