DRAFT NSW Health Mandatory Training and Education Requirements
The Term “Mandatory Training” within NSW Health is reserved for state-wide training and education courses that have been classified within the 3-Tier NSW
Health Mandatory Training and Education Classification System being:
Mandatory Tier 1:
Statutory Training
Statutory Training means training in a defined subject matter:
(a) which a person must complete; or
(b) which a person must ensure that another person completes, in order to satisfy a legal obligation specified under
legislation (or subordinate legislative instrument).
Mandatory Tier 2:
National Safety and Quality Health
Service Standards (NSQHSS) Training
NSQHS Standards Training means training in a defined subject matter:
(a) which a person must complete; or
(b) which a person must ensure that another person completes, in order for a health service to meet the
requirements of the NSQHS Standards.
Mandatory Tier 3:
MoH Policy Directive Training
MoH Policy Directive Training means training in a defined subject matter:
(a) which a person must complete; or
(b) which a person must ensure that another person completes, in order to comply with a requirement of the NSW
Ministry of Health (MoH) specified in a policy directive.
