The Merger Agreement is Medicaid Waiver still being “ironed out”; however the Guilford County Commissioners meet on October 4th and Update hopefully will approve the Agreement at that time. When the Merger Agreement is signed, Guilford Budget Update Center LME will cease to exist and Guilford County will become the 9th County in the SHC catchment area. Victoria has met with the Guilford staff who is interested in pursuing employment with SHC. From a legal perspective jobs can’t be offered until the Merger Agreement has been approved. Medicaid Waiver Update - Victoria shared the letter from Sandhills Center requesting a two month delay to the scheduled October 1 implementation date. The Sandhills Center Board approved this recommendation and NC DHHS is in agreement and support of this request. The delay allows SHC time to work with their partners HP Enterprise and NTST to further automate the functions that have been developed, perform extensive testing, and work with their provider network in full implementation of the authorization and claims processing system.
