Annotated Bibliography Include at least 30 academic research publications relevant to the topic, including at least 10 published in 2006 or more recently. Include with each citation one or a few paragraphs that give a critical evaluation of the most important contributions of the research to the topic of the course. Field Journal Keep a daily record of your direct observations and reflections on the topic of this course during your stay in the field in Indonesia, and submit it in a sufficiently-readable form to the instructor. Final Report Prepare a formal academic report in the form of a critical combination of what is known about the social and cultural aspects of conservation, drawing on your own experiences in Indonesia. Include examples from the academic research literature. Conclude the report with recommendations about policy options and about future research. Policies and Penalties The student will consult with the supervisor by e-mail weekly to the extent possible. All written assignments including those submitted electronically must be carefully proofread and typed. Submissions with many errors in grammar or spelling will not be accepted.
