CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and create instructional, research, institutional or multimedia presentation materials or produce, operate, and/or engineer aspects of a designated media arts area (e.g., digital imaging, graphic art, video production, etc.); may coordinate the multimedia service function at Regional Campuses. Consult with faculty and staff to determine multimedia needs; determine production techniques; develop project budget; plan and coordinate technical functions. Specialize in non-linear editing, Edit Suite Management, set design and construction. Manage administrative and professional staff (Producer-Directors; Graphic Designer) and supervise a significant group of student crew personnel. May write, produce, direct, record, and edit instructional media productions. May oversee the installation, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of a variety of multimedia equipment (e.g., projectors, cameras, camcorders, video and other recording devices, etc.) in classrooms, studios, or remote locations; oversee facilities, inventory control, and parts procurement. Assist in other areas of Multimedia Services. Market and assess all teleproductions’ production endeavors. Research, evaluate, and recommend new media technology; may install software and hardware. Perform related duties as assigned. Production Manager, Teleproductions REPORTS TO: Designated Supervisor LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION: Functional guidance of administrative/professional employees and/or direct supervision of support staff on an ongoing basis. May provide ongoing facilitation of consecutive projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Media Technology, Graphics Communication, Commercial Art or related discipline; two to three years experience in a related field of multimedia production, operation, or engineering. Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of specific area of media arts (e.g., studio photography and lighting; computer-based digital imaging; graphic arts, etc.); personal computer applications. Skill in the use of specialized equipment and materials employed in assigned area; written and interpersonal communication. Ability to manage people and projects. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Typically requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, keying, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Incumbent required to travel on and off campus frequently.
