PURCHASING STANDALONE ACCESS CODES
Why would you purchase a standalone access code?

An access code didn’t come with your book and you need to/ you’d like to use the
self-study resources and/or assignments that are available to you in the online
platform (please note: your local campus bookshop will carry the correct textbook
+ access code package if you are required to use the platform for assessment
purposes)
You bought a 2nd hand copy and need/want access to the resources within the
online platform
You’re not buying a book/not using a book and need/want access to the resources
within the online platform
What do you need to complete your online purchase from Pearson?

The title of your book – please be sure to have the correct author, title and edition.
The name of the online platform you want access to (i.e. MyAccountingLab, etc.)
Do you want an access code with or without eBook?
A Credit Card or EFTPOS/Debit Card with a Visa or MC logo on the front
o If you don’t have either of the above, you can purchase a
temporary/disposable cash card from AUS Post that can be used as a
Credit Card / EFTPOS card.
How do you do an online purchase through the Pearson website?

Go to www.pearson.com.au
Click “Login or Join”

Most students would not have a Pearson e-commerce account already set up, so
tick “No – I don’t have an e-commerce account”. Select “Student” from the pulldown menu.
4) Enter in the details as prompted. Be sure to choose a password you’ll remember.
Choose “University” as your Institution and then choose your University name from
the pull-down menu. Check your details before completing your registration.
5) Go to “My Account”. Scroll through each of the tabs to ensure you have the right
details listed. Enter your payment Billing Address and Delivery Address.
6) Once you’ve completed joining the Pearson website, you can now search for the item
that you’d like to purchase. For your Numeracy component, search for: MyMathTest. You
will choose MyMathTest digital access code which appears as your top choice. For your
Literacy component, search for: MyWritingLab Global.

7) Once you’ve found the correct code. Click “Add to Cart”
8) If you’re done shopping, go to the top of the screen and click on “Cart”, then
“Checkout”.
9) Proceed to Delivery.
10) Enter your Address.
11) Check your order details on the Summary tab. Proceed to Payment.
12) Enter your Payment Details. Pay Now!
13) Click on the “Access digital purchases and view your order details” link.
14) You will see your access code listed. You will need to use this access code to then
register for the online platform you will be using. For MyWritingLab Global, go to
www.mywritinglab.com/global to register. For MyMathTest, go to
www.mymathtest.com to register. Please see your course site for further details
on how to register if needed. (You DO STILL NEED TO REGISTER for the
technology platform you are using
