Welcome to your third speech! Demonstration Speech The purpose of this speech is to show your audience how to do something. In the most interesting demonstration speeches, speakers teach their audience members a new skill or give them greater appreciation of an existing skill. In this speech, you will need to demonstrate a process. This can include demonstrating how to make something, how something works, or how something is done. Remember, your demonstration needs to be respectful and school-appropriate. You may not use food. Here is what you need to do: 1. Select a unique topic. Look at your Interest Inventory (numbers 2,3,5,8, and 15). 2. Select appropriate tools to aid in your demonstrate. 3. Write an outline and turn this in on the due date: ______________________________. Be sure to include and underline 10 transitions! 4. Practice. When you give your speech, follow this format: I. Introduction A. Get your audience’s attention. B. Give your audience a reason to listen. C. Get your audience to trust you. D. Give your audience the main idea. TRANSITION II. Body A.
