PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Led development of the system for the chemical and biological defense of the Czech
Armed Forces. Designed and created the first Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC)
Biosafety Level 4 (BSL4) military holding and treatment facility in Central Europe.
Responsible for the coordination of biological defense and response during the Prague
NATO Summit in 2002.
Created the first International NBC unit within NATO forces in cooperation with the U.S.
Department of Defense. Managed field testing of the special biological detection
equipment with the Czech NBC unit in an overseas deployment. (Kuwait, Iraq).
Directed the reorganization and training of the Army of the Czech Republic military units
dedicated to humanitarian relief, bringing them up to the standard required by national
legislation and international laws and regulation. Managed the medical support capabilities
of the Czech Armed Forces to provide military medical relief in times of national and
international deployment.
Member of the Committee of Medical Chiefs in NATO (COMEDS) – active in the field of
international operations, doctrine and legislature.
Member of the Counterproliferation Committee in NATO, DGP WG in Brussels (Senior
Defence Group on Proliferation): Active in evaluation and assessment of the biological
threat and defense within NATO.
Published more than twenty works and lectured in the Czech Republic and abroad.
