Activities

Pretend that George helps Tony deliver a pizza to an animal

to his animal friend. Write a sentence about how George’s
friend appreciates his kindness.

Imagine that you are going to have a pizza party. Create a
party invitation. Draw a picture of a pizza and make sure
you include the time and place where the party will be.
3.
Pretend that you are Tony, the baker. Write George a
thank you note for helping to deliver the pizza to the
factory.

Draw your favorite kind of pizza. List the toppings that are
on the pizza.
Introductions
1.
Show the children a stuffed monkey. Ask them to imagine
what a monkey would like to eat. Tell them that today we
will read about Curious George and how he tries to make
pizza by himself. Let’s read and see what mischief he gets
into.
2.
Write one pizza topping on index cards or construction
paper. Have the children draw the cards out of a stack and
ask them if they like that topping on their pizza. Tell them
that today we will read a story about a monkey who is
curios about making pizza. Let’s read and find out if he can
make pizza.
3.
Show the children different kinds of pizza. Ask them what
toppings they like on their pizza. Tell them that today we
will read about a curious monkey who tries to make a pizza.
