JOB SUMMARY:
Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that
are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army
integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
About the position:
These positions are part of a formalized development program and are CIVILIAN position with
the Department of Army. The incumbents will serve as ranger trainees with the United States
Army Corps of Engineers.
These are Career Program (CP) #18 positions.
If selected for this position, a signed mobility agreement is a condition of employment. This
agreement states that in order to be placed in the intern program, or upon graduation from the
intern program, you may be assigned to any location, within the Department of Army and that
you will move to the new duty location. Failure to relocate can be used as the basis for nonselection. Failure to relocate after appointment can be the basis for your removal from Federal
service.

DUTIES:
As a Natural Resources Specialist (Ranger) Intern, works with senior level rangers and
scientists to gain knowledge and proficiency in the profession. Duties may include but are not
limited to assisting in educating the visiting public on park purposes, conditions, policies and
regulations; monitoring park facilities and other areas for operational safety and ecosystem
stability; assisting in the patrols on project lands and waters to provide visitor protection and
assistance; and interpretting and enforcing rules and regulations related to park management.
Upon completion of the internship the ranger will be fully functional to serve in a journeyman
position.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Basic Qualification Requirements:
A. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related
disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience -- Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A
above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

* Personnel security investigation required.

Job Description: Our youth group is essential to the future of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church
(PPC) as well as a vital element of our ministry today. We're prayerfully seeking a Youth
Director who is excited about and dedicated to building this group's commitment to Jesus Christ,
community service, our church, and each other. We have a wonderful opportunity to shape the
lives of teenagers, ranging from those whose families reach back 240 years to the church's
roots, to those within the surrounding communities of Mint Hill, NC who haven't yet experienced
PPC. Our Youth Director reports directly into the Head Pastor and will develop and implement a
vision for youth ministry in accordance with the Christian Education Ministry's overall education
direction. He/she will direct and coordinate a comprehensive youth ministry program leveraging
the support of Lay volunteers as needed. Philadelphia is open to either a full-time, or a part-time
youth director candidate. We believe a vibrant youth ministry offers innovative and engaging
programming with a balance of spiritual growth, fellowship and service. It currently includes, but
is not limited to: • Sunday School and Sunday Evening Youth Group for Grades 6-12 •
Wonderful Wednesdays • Worship Participation • Mission Opportunities, such as Bright
Blessings, CROP Walk, mission trips, etc. • Recreation, such as Lock-Ins, sporting events, and
more • Exciting, faith-based trips, including youth conferences, retreats, etc. Most importantly,
the director will provide authentic situational leadership that creates a culture of love, sharing,
trust, and mutual respect so our youth can freely learn how to apply Christ's teachings to their
lives. This person will be very active working and communicating with staff, volunteers, relevant
church committees, and youth families. Of course, this requires a self-motivated leader of strong
faith, who has successfully exhibited excellent planning, organization and multi-channel
communication skills. A bachelor's degree and prior experience working with church youth is
strongly preferred. In order to teach in the reformed tradition, a knowledge of beliefs and
