PATH’s Community Resource Seminars – 2015. We want to answer your questions about our local system
of social services -- register today for our ½ day (4 hour) training! The cost is $35/individual, plus $25 (optional
and special seminar rate) for the McLean/DeWitt/Livingston County PATH Directory or $20 for the McLean
County only Directory. Both go hand-in-hand with the seminar content.

Wings & Prayers Differently Abled- Ecumenical Worship Service, Sunday, November 15, 2015
Wings & Prayers is a differently abled ecumenical worship service for those with developmental and intellectual
disabilities and their families and families who have children with special needs. The Wings & Prayers Ministry
has designed and adapted a meaningful worship service aimed to capture the attention and interest of these
individuals.
Services are held every 3rd Sunday of the month, from 3:00 – 3:45 pm with fellowship time following. Services
are held at Crossroads Chapel – 1049 JC Parkway in Bloomington, IL. Volunteers are cherished and much

STUFF THE BUS!! NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Connect Transit is readying the 13th Annual “Stuff the Bus” for the Holidays. Help Connect Transit and the
Children’s Home + Aid Crisis Nursery make a difference in the lives of local babies and children in crisis!
During the week of Nov. 30- Dec. 5, Connect Transit will park a bus at various locations throughout
Bloomington-Normal to challenge the community to “stuff the bus” full of general baby and child (ages 6 and
under) items for the Crisis Nursery.

- 150-300% of poverty level (this is above the LiHeap income requirements)
- Must be: a senior or disabled or have a temporary documentable crisis
(Mitsubishi closing counts as a crisis)
- Bill cannot be over $750
- Must have active service in their home (cannot be shut-off)
- Income must be from an adult (cannot count child’s disability as their income)
- This is a matching program (we can match one payment up to $350)
- If the client qualified for LiHeap they will NOT qualify for WN/CF

- Eligible clients can be helped once each heating/cooling season per calendar year.

Community Health Care Clinic is hosting #MakeYourMark Open House on November 18th!
The Community Health Care Clinic is in the final planning stages of their expansion project and this is your
opportunity to see the space before work begins. This expansion project is a complete renovation of the 900
N. Franklin Property just across the parking lot from the current clinic. Upon completion, the new clinic space
will include more medical exam rooms, more patient education space AND our community's first ever free
dental clinic.

Give Thanks is Home Sweet Home Sweet Home Ministries’ initiative to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal
to the men, women and children of our community. Distribution will be at Midwest Food Bank and the dates are
Saturday, November 21st from 11-4pm and Monday November 23rd from 2-6pm. Midwest Food Bank is

Truth in Love Community is a new counseling service in Bloomington designed to help meet the needs of
low-income families. Masters level interns provide counseling under the supervision of experienced, licensed
therapists. It is located in the lower level of Crosswinds Community Church, 400 W Union, through the Lee
Street entrance. Individuals with incomes less than $25,000/yr and families with incomes less than $40,000/yr
qualify for $15 per session. Appointments are available 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday. For referral information

Community Thanksgiving Dinner and Puppet Show! - Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church 801 W. Market
Bloomington, will be hosting their annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday November 25th from
5:00-7:00. This will be a fun filled evening with a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner, Puppet Show and activities for

The Money Mentor program is now accepting applications for people wanting to be paired with a mentor for
assistance in developing financial skills. There is no income limit to participate. Anyone with a sincere desire to

Volunteer Opportunities:
Become a PATH Hotline Volunteer: Adult volunteers are needed to answer phones on the 24-hour hotline.
Volunteering your time on the hotline offers a rewarding experience and a great opportunity to give back to
your community. A complete training program and professional back-up is provided. Our training program
teaches you everything you need to know, including communication techniques and community resources. The

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR READING TO END RACISM - Reading to End Racism is a racial justice
program that uses trained volunteers to read to children in the classroom and, through books and personal
stories, stimulate an insightful conversation about discrimination. Opening this dialogue with students and
teachers empowers individuals to work to eliminate racism in their lives, schools, and communities.
A two-hour training will be required for all Reading to End Racism volunteers.

The Normal Public Library will be participating in Giving Tuesday to raise money for a Teen Mobile
Makerspace.
The Giving Tuesday campaign will run all day on Tuesday, December 1. Last Giving Tuesday, patrons helped
the library raise $4,700 for the Children's Department Tech Playground. This year, Normal Public Library would
like to raise $6,000 for a Teen Mobile Makerspace.
Donations will go towards technological equipment, electronic kits, a maker station, and craft supplies for the
teens of the Normal Public Library.
The library has a generous donation of $1,000 offered as a challenge to raise half of their goal -$3,000 - by
11:00 am. If they reach 100 individual donors, they'll also give all patrons free DVD rentals for the whole
month of December.
