Internal job advertisement Department Digital Content and Social Media Manager (web, mobile, email publication) Job Title and publication Working across several digital titles Job Description We are seeking an exceptional Digital Content and Social Media Manager to edit, produce and activate content for a range of high quality web, mobile and email publications for our diverse clients in the automotive, outdoor and beauty sector. You are a highly experienced Web Editor or Digital Producer – with extensive experience in producing consumer editorial and brand marketing content - with a passion for wordsmithing, visual design and using analytics and outreach to ensure your content truly makes a difference. Using your in-depth knowledge of best practice in digital consumer publishing and content marketing, you will manage the creation, outreach and performance reporting of digital content to online channels including online PR, social media, and online ad channels, working directly with our clients. Key tasks: Website content – copywriting, copy editing and image optimization Content marketing – managing outreach of content to paid/ owned/ earned channel Email marketing – development of copy and layout, including subject lines Social media – content and community management Reporting – analytics and performance review Training – internal training of writer/ producers of digital content Internal/external comms – Supporting the Agency’s internal comms & B2B external comms through web content & social media outreach Accountabilities: Manage the online editorial of a range of website, social and email digital products in automotive, leisure & outdoors and beauty sectors Project manage the commissioning, feedback and sign-off process directly with our clients Implement best practice in digital copywriting across web, email and social channels Research and implement SEO tactics for web channels Digital editorial copywriting for a diverse range of audiences – particularly focused in automotive and leisure/outdoor Community management of B2C social media channels (including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest), including development of networks of advocates for social media outreach Content activation – managing communications with online PR, client’s web/community managers, paid content agencies, and bloggers/social media advocates Performance reporting on content initiatives, using data analysis tools including Google Analytics and Facebook Insight Supporting internal training of writers/ producers to improve quality of digital content, including contributing to training sessions/ briefings Supporting internal/external communications of the Agency’s internal communications and social channels Support internal training and knowledge sharing through facilitating and contributing to internal briefings and training workshop in topics related to digital publishing and email marketing Provide research and product development support as required by the Head of Digital and Content to assist the growth and development of digital content marketing for River Group’s clients Skills required: Skills/experience needed Essential Extensive experience in copywriting for a range of B2C sectors and audiences Creation of digital content for web, email and social media Knowledge of SEO best practice: research, implementation and tracking Advanced use of Photoshop for image optimisation Practical knowledge of working with digital marketing channels: paid and organic search, PPC, email, social Social media practitioner: using tools like Twitter, LinkedIn and blogs to support an established personal social media profile Analytical mindset – able to assess data, create reports and make tactical recommendations relation to content management Ability to manage multiple projects within agreed timelines and budget Excellent communication skills – written and verbal Problem solving - finding, researching and self-identifying solutions Excellent people skills with the ability to take a client-centric approach to solutions Creative approach to projects, recommending creative editorial solutions Maintain a culture of ongoing learning – self-identifying research and learning opportunities Passion for digital content and innovations in digital publishing Desirable How to apply Client-handling and client communications experience working in an agency or service sector Experience of editorial writing for automotive and leisure/outdoor Experience of sub-editing and proof reading for a print or digital publication Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics and other digital analytical tools Experience of small-scale production (script, shoot, edit) of online video Use of email broadcast systems (e.g. Adestra, Mailchimp) Managing and growing social media communities and managing social networks (e.g. Twitter, Facebook) Ability to negotiate with suppliers and third party agencies Planning and delivery of learning programmes Use of Adobe suite design software: Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, In-Design People management of entry-level talent Please email: - Your CV - Salary expectations - 4 links to examples of your portfolio of digital editorial (with at least 1 digital example to be a format other than a web article) explaining your role in producing each, to: Susi O’Neill Head of Digital and Content Soneill@therivergroup.co.uk Closing Date Fri 25th April 2014
