Dear Doctor
Welcome to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Northern California Health Care
System. You are appointed on an intermittent basis at our facility as medical resident or fellow
from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 under the authority of Title 38 United States Code 7406.
During your period of appointment with our facility, you will be paid indirectly by the VA using
a disbursement agreement with the University of California Davis and will be authorized to
perform services as directed by the VA Service Chief.
Unless you have prior service as a Federal employee, acceptance of this letter as signed by your
signature below, and completion of Standard Form 61, Appointment Affidavit, will serve as your
appointment authorization for this period.
