Chemistry 32A Lab Report Format:
A. Prelab*:
1. Name and Date of the report.
2. Title of the Lab Experiment (Case Study #)
3. Purpose of the Lab Experiment (be brief).
4. Brief summary of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) - to be discussed in class.

B. Data Sheets/Results:
5. Original data taken during the experiment in ink.
6. Calculations and graphs (if required).
7. Overall results of your experiment.

Discussion, Conclusion of results and Post-Lab Questions:
8. Possible sources of error/precision. It may include class results as discussed in post lab.
9. Answers to Assigned Post-Lab questions (if any).
Reports may be handwritten or computer generated; Individual reports are required for each student.
Identical copies of someone else's repot is considered plagarism and will meet disciplinary action.
*Prelab write up will be initialed by the instructor before you begin the lab experiment. Be sure to come
prepared with pre-lab to avoid any unnecessary delay in lab.
Tardy or partial attendance of lab (as discussed by your lab instructor) will be considered absent.
There will be a 10% penalty for lab reports received one week late, a 50% deduction for lab reports more
than one week. Be punctual in lab report submission to avoid penalty.
