PROFILE
A versatile, Emmy award winning broadcast veteran; an NBC Network News
staff producer and contributing producer to ABC Network News; experience extends
from broadcast news, to documentaries, to alternative programming. An independent
producer the past sixteen years working with broadcast outlets and production houses.
Produced and wrote numerous documentaries for PBS and commercial television
stations; created programming on cable networks like National Geographic Television
and The Discovery Channel.
As a broadcast journalist, produced and reported on forests fires, national trials,
9-11, earthquakes in Turkey, humanitarian aid drops over Afghanistan, refugee
camps in Pakistan, terrorist cells in the Philippines, and MIA’s in Vietnam; an
embedded journalist during the invasion of Iraq during “Operation Enduring Freedom;”
produced live events for ABC Nightline and WNBC-TV in New York.

broadcast outlets that include:
ABC News – Produced reports and live shots for GMA, World News Tonight, and Nightline;
stories included the Oklahoma City bombing, Branch Davidian siege, Ft. Worth Church shooting,
Southwest drought, religion in Texas prisons, etc. etc.
National Geographic Today- Wrote and produced expanded (5-8 minutes) national stories
on such topics as restoration of New Orleans St. Louis Cemetery #1, Utah Provo River
restoration, windmill farms, etc.
Channel 1 Kids Network- Wrote and produced stories relating to American teenagers.
PBS World Business Review- Wrote and reported for weekly program hosted by Casper
Wienberger and later Alexander Haig.
SAT-1 German TV Network- Produced stories on Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma;
produced and coordinated live election night coverage from Bill Clinton and George W. Bush
campaign headquarters; produced documentaries on Scientology, weapons of mass destruction,
gun laws, etc. etc.
BBC Sports- Coordinating producer for BBC’s national control center in Dallas for 1994 World
Cup; managed logistics for executives, technicians, and editorial crews.
NHK Japanese Television Network- Produced coverage of American political
campaigns and 1992 Republican convention.
The Discovery Channel- Segment producer of several years for “Your New House”.
USA Today-TV- Contributing producer/writer on national stories on subjects like hunting,
religious freedom, ADD, etc. etc.
HGTV- Segment producer for “Building Character”.
Court TV- Segment producer for America’s Shocking Crime Videos.

WNBC-TV New York- News series producer for anchor Chuck Scarborough on reports on
MIA’s in Vietnam, earthquakes in Turkey, WW II veteran reunion in Belgium. Coordinated all
coverage and live shots for Amado Dialo murder trial.
WCBS-TV New York- News series writer and producer for anchor Ernie Anastos on elder
care; writer and special projects producer for the health beat.
KTVT-TV Dallas- Wrote and reported series on terrorist cells in the Philippines, Pakistan
refugee camps, Afghanistan humanitarian food drop; wrote and produced documentary on the
552 Patriot Missile Battalion (Pvt. Jessica Lynch’s maintenance unit was attached to the
battalion).
WFAA-TV Dallas- Wrote and reported for hour-long news magazine show Prime Time Texas;
the expanded stories (7-10 minutes) explored current and historical topics.
BELO Corporation- Wrote and produced several documentaries and specials for the group
stations and national syndication.
KERA-TV Dallas- Wrote and produced documentaries for local and national broadcast.
L.E.T.N. (Law Enforcement Television Network)- Produced and wrote programming for law
enforcement training. Videos included dramatizations and re-creations.
CRIME STOPPERS- Resurrected the franchise reports for Dallas. Hosted by Police Chief
Ben Click. Aired on WFAA-TV.
CORPORATE- Video productions for American Airlines, Newell-Rubbermaid, Volunteer
Hospitals of America, Belz Enterprises (Peabody Hotels), Markel Insurance.

 Search for the Flyboys; Narrated by Gen. Wesley Clark:
An hour-long program on the US Military’s efforts to locate remains of missing soldiers
from the Battle of Palau; the program mixed real time video with WW II archival footage
and pictures.

Behind Iraqi Lines: Embedded with the Patriots; CBS-11, Dallas:
A behind the scenes look at the embedded media’s experiences with the 507 th Patriot
Missile Battalion during the invasion; documentary also included the Pvt. Jessica Lynch
ambush.



Weapons of Mass Destruction; SAT-1 German TV:
An in-depth look at the potential of terrorists using WMD’s to attack American targets;
show was produced a year prior to 9-11.
Scientology; SAT-1 German TV: An investigation into a controversial organization
and its connection to the death of former member Lisa McPherson.
Fire! What You Need to Know; National PBS and Commercial Syndication:
An hour program on the types of fires Americans experience and how to survive them.


An hour-long historical program exploring Ft. Worth’s rich past utilizing archival footage,
pictures, and some re-creations.

Stress in the 90’s; Belo Corporate Stations and WFAA-TV, Dallas:
An hour-long program evaluating the causes of stress in modern America and how
people deal with its affects.

Crime in Texas, Statewide Live-to Tape Simulcast;
A two-prime time program dealing with the crack-cocaine epidemic and increasing crime
rate in the state; aired in 17 markets including Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.

Home Seasoning; AETN-TV, Conway-Little Rock;
A thirty-minute program devoted to various ways to efficiently heat homes during one of
the coldest winters on record; aired statewide on public television.
TV PILOT PROGRAMS
Developed, created, produced and wrote the following TV pilot programs:



How’s That Made –A fast paced program explores how everyday items are
created. The show follows a product like wine, cheese, or light bulbs from its raw
to the finished form.
Festivals USA- A lighthearted program that takes viewers on a vicarious ride
through the main streets and back roads of American culture where ice, barbecue,
blues, cars, crawfish, mosquitoes, and peanuts are honored. (Optioned by PBS
Plus).
Time Passages- A magazine style half-hour program exploring social and
economic pertaining to senior citizens.
