Connect2Help
Finance Committee
February 13, 2013
The first agenda item was approval of Form 990. After a short period of discussion, Chad Greiwe
motioned that the committee accept Form 990 as presented. This was seconded by Danielle Harbor and
approved unanimously by the committee. The 990 will be submitted to IRS, Indiana Dept. of Revenue
and uploaded to Guidestar.
January financial statements were then reviewed. The Statement of Financial Position shows a decline
in cash. This is a timing situation due to a large grant receivable. Additionally, about 2 months ago
Connect2Help changed its pay day from Friday to Thursday. This change put a 3rd payroll in January.
Earlier statements of cashflow had a third payroll scheduled in March (when it would have occurred
with a Friday pay day). Accounts receivable are a bit larger than in previous months due to two
government contracts, VOCA (funding the domestic violence hub) and SNAP. On the Statement of
changes in in Financial position, the non-personnel expenses show several essential purchases that we
have had to make including computers and chairs for the phone room and higher capacity internet
service.
The committee agreed to move the Investment Policy forward to the full board at the February meeting.
UPDATES:
Progress on the SNAP contract is continuing. In the first three months of the contract, there were five
underperforming centers. However, as a group, we have met or exceeded every metric except for the
number of callers asked if they are on SNAP.
June 30, 2013 will be the last day that Connect2Help will provide overnight coverage for IRIS centers. At
the next IN211 Board meeing IRIS Centers need to submit their plans on how to comply with the IN211
Procedures Manual. It will become the responsibility of the IN211 Executive Board to review and
evaluate these plans.
On Friday February 8, a representative from OPOC.us met with our employees who participate in the
health plan. We spent an hour going through the new plan. Convenience cards will be sent to
participants that work like debit cards for spending the first dollar benefit.
