1.May we keep the Open Singles Ladder a Pyramid Ladder for 2006 (Y=22/N=2)?
Or should we switch back to the old way- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -(Y=2/N=9)?
Or should the Open Singles be like the Men's Doubles Ladder* - - -(Y=4/N=5)?
*On the Men's Doubles Ladder players that are dropped for inactivity are all treated as tied for the same position.
They may all challenge amongst themselves or may challenge the bottom 7 active players from the previous and
current months.
2.Currently only the Men’s Doubles Ladders has names followed by W-L-D (Wins-Loses-Defaults).
You don't get credit for a Win or Lose with Default. But the other ladders only have W-L.
Should all ladders have W-L-D? Yes=12 No=9 Other. Explain:
2a.Should all ladders be Pyramid Ladders ( Y=5 / N=2 )? [Too late for 2006?]
3.May we change “24 hours” to “48 hours” under Accepting Challenges Rule 1 (Y=28/N=5)?
Current Rule 1: As soon as possible, but not more than 24 hours after being challenged, a challenged player/team must offer two
reasonable days and times for the match within seven days of the challenge or give a default.
5.May we change Accepting Challenges Rule 3 so challenged players may accept more than one challenge at a time but can
decline (Y=29/N=4)? Players should be given 2 weeks to schedule (Y=1). Current is 7 days.
6.May we change Making Challenges Rule 7 so players may challenge more than one player at a time (Y=29/N=3)?
7.May we add “Players do not have to accept challenges after Oct. 8.” to the rules, because there are less than 7 days
remaining in the season (Y=26/N=5)?
If N, please explain:
7a.Or should we add “Players may make challenges up to Oct 15. Players have until Oct 22 (or all winter) to honor these late
challenges.” ( Y=4 / N=0 ) [Not enough votes?]
8.We have $6000 in the CTL Treasury. What should we do with it?
8a.Should CTL give 5 cans of tennis balls to every player that plays more than 9 different opponents in 2006 (Y=14/N=12)?
8b.How about 1 can to every player that plays more than 9 matches (Y=16/N=6)?
8c.$2 off 2007 membership for households that plays more than 9 matches (Y=5/N=2)?
8d.Free 2007 membership for households that plays more than 9 different opponents(Y=0/N=3)?
[P.S. Its easier to give discounts rather than deliver tennis balls]
