Children’s Bulletins and “Quiet Bags” are available at the Welcome Table. PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP Praise to the Lord, the Almighty arr. by Stephen Nielson Please take this time to quietly meditate on the following Scripture passage as you prepare your heart to worship the Lord. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (ESV) *CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 27:1, 11 (ESV) As God’s Word calls us to worship, let’s shout these words to one another recognizing that our worship is a response to God’s gracious call. Pastor: People: Pastor: People: ALL: The Lord is my light and my salvation! Whom shall we fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; Of whom shall we be afraid? Teach us your ways, O LORD, and lead us on a level path! *HYMN OF PRAISE #53 Praise To The Lord, The Almighty *PRAYER OF ADORATION *WORSHIP IN SONG Elder Joe Blanner Before The Throne 40 PRAYER OF CONFESSION After the public confession below, you are encouraged to confess your sins silently to God. Lord, we have sinned, without considering how much you love us. You see our sins more clearly than we can ourselves. Lord, you know when we are indifferent to your Word, the Bible; how often we forget to pray; the times we come unwillingly to worship; and yet we turn to you when we are in trouble. Lord, you know when we are untruthful and when we think evil of others. You see our anger and unfairness to our friends. You know how hard it is for us to forgive. Forgive us and make us clean, so that we can obey your call to take up your cross and follow you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen. COMFORT AND ASSURANCE OF THE GOSPEL Romans 6:17-18 (ESV) But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.
