Raising the Bar 3-day Seminar with Steve and Jen White Dates: May 29th to 31st, 2015 Location: Two Paws Up!, Calgary, AB Description This 3-day, information-packed workshop will turn training orthodoxy on its head! Steve and Jen are dynamic and knowledgeable trainers and presenters. This workshop will be valuable to anyone who trains dogs. The concepts discussed will be applicable to trainers who work with pet dog owners, people who enjoy working with their own dogs, and people who work with dogs and people for specific purposes (for example, search and rescue, therapy work, nose work, agility, etc.). The following points will be covered in depth: How to reach the next level of performance, regardless of your, or your dog’s, skill level or discipline. Why peak performance is not so much about how many behaviours a dog can do, nearly as much as it’s about how well it truly knows the behaviours it can do. The value of systematically building fluency and generalization through six dimensions…and where most trainers go wrong right from the start. Why, if you’re not using video to analyze training, you’re probably flying without a compass. How to leverage the power of training teams to see performance possibilities you never knew existed. Why "thin-slicing" skills are an absolute must to make good training decisions on-the-fly. When it’s okay to break the “rules”.
