In May of 2010, I will be receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and will be eligible for an Illinois Type 03 certificate. I will have completed a concentration in Middle Level Education with endorsements in Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. I am halfway through my semester of Student Teaching at Wheaton’s Edison Middle School. During my time at this school, I have been working in a seventh grade classroom. Outside of my classroom responsibilities, I have been collaborating with the other teachers on my Cooperating Teacher’s team with planning interdisciplinary lessons and advisory periods. All of my previous experiences with children have been aiding me with my experiences, but the classroom management program I created and implemented successfully during my clinical experiences at Parkside Junior High have aided me with learning this new class. Additionally, I have been able to successfully implement a new leveled reading program within the class to help my students become more selfsufficient with their reading choices. The district’s online application has been completed and I have attached the requested documents. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future regarding the prospects for an interview. Thank you so much for your time and consideration for the position. Sincerely, Pearl Webb Encl: resume
