1) All organisms are classified into groups. Every living thing fits into one of the 5 Kings. What are the 5
Kingdoms? Give an example of an organism that belongs in each Kingdom.
2) All vertebrates have backbones. Invertebrates do not have backbones. Name the 5 classes of vertebrates
and give a specific species for each class.
3) Plants can first be sorted by whether it can transport its nutrients throughout the plant (vascular) or not
(nonvascular). Vascular plants can be classified by whether they have exposed “naked” seeds (gymnosperm)
or seeds that are protected by a fruit (angiosperm). Give an example of a vascular gymnosperm plant and a
vascular angiosperm plant.
