Children need a broad range of real and vicarious experiences if they are to
master skills necessary to succeed in life. Because the early formative years are the
most important ones in human development thereby promoting academic success.
The program for Day Care is in the Baltimore City Health Department
Ordinance and Regulations Governing Day Nurseries. The program for school-age
children includes:
A.
B.
C.
Access to creative experiences
Occasions to explore the community, to take trips, and to participate in
appropriate community activities.
Opportunity for children to take responsibility consistent with their
ages for planning and carrying out their own activities.
Children are introduced to activities designed to help build a foundation for
the necessary readiness skills in more structured cognitive areas.
Oral language development is the primary vehicle for learning.
Exploratory time is an essential part of each day. Identified areas such as
art, block building, housekeeping, library, water/sand play, and manipulative
activities enable children to grow and learn to:






work cooperatively with adults and other children
think for themselves
create with many types of materials
ask questions and solve problems
make decisions and observe the results
understand their own feelings and respond to the feelings of
others.
The day begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are
served and a snack is provided after naptime. For children who have food allergies
we encourage that they bring their meals. Under the direction of our caring
experienced staff, children enjoy learning to learn.
All paperwork, registration fee and any payments due must be turned into
the school Office before child is able to start school.
PHILOSOPHY
The Center for Creative Learning is a social-cultural and religious
educational community that fosters, among children, self-actualization
through participation in, and guidance through creative, discovery
experiences. It is the goal of the Center to enhance the individual’s
spiritual, personal, social, intellectual, and physical well-being and, thus,
allow the “individual” to become more aware of his/her inner potentials.
In keeping with this philosophy, the following objectives are encouraged:
 To develop an environment that meets the needs of the “whole
person.”
Instilling in the learner a healthy world view, and the understanding
of
the Interdependency of human beings on each other . . . as well
as
nature.
 To provide an atmosphere conducive to strengthening the body,
mind,
spirit, morality, and self-identity to a maximum extent . . . in
harmony
with the God-given potential of each individual.
 To enhance growth and development by guiding individuals to be
able to
make judgments and decisions based on Christian-tenets and the
highest
moral values.
 To aid and reinforce individuals in becoming aware of positive
values
which minister to their deep needs.
 To develop in the individual critical/analytical thinking skills and
creative
intellectual abilities which enables him/her to THINK! And, thus,
enhance his/her role as a contributing member of society.
 To provide and environment . . . physical, psychological, intellectual,
and
social . . . in which all learners may become aware of the ideal of
the
pursuit of excellence.
 To offer broad-based programs into which persons of diverse
religious
persuasions may be able to participate.

WELCOME TO THE CENTER FOR
CREATIVE LEARNING.
Dear Parents,
Thank you for enrolling your child in the Center for Creative
Learning. We would like to make you aware of the things that will be
going on this year and what we hope you will become involved in.
Every child will be given the opportunity to develop to the
maximum of his/her God-given potential. Individualized instruction
is the motivating force for that development. Careful attention will be
provided by our competent and dedicated staff. It is our desire that
you take an active roll in this development as well.
In the following pages, you will read about the rules,
regulations, and standards upon which we have built the school. This
could not have been done without God’s grace and your support and
belief in us. We count it a privilege to be of service to you and your
child. Thank you again for selecting our school as your choice of an
educational environment for your child.
Please note that a child that has the school and parent actively
involved in his/her educational goals is the best way for a child to
work at their optimum and feel supported by all.

FACILITY
Our school is located on 22 plus rolling acres. Children are afforded a
wide-open country-rural atmosphere in an urban setting. Playtime and/or
physical education become a continuous learning experience in which God-given
elements of nature are blended with the man-made apparatus to build strong
bodies and healthy attitudes and relationships. Such spacious facilities enhance
our staff’s ability to work effectively in the task of developing your child.
CONFERENCES
From time to time you may wish to discuss your child’s progress with the
teacher and/or Director. Please be certain to call and establish an appointment
with the teacher and/or principal in advance. We cannot guarantee that you will
be able to meet with the teacher if prior notification and arrangements are not
made. Please do not try to engage teachers in conferences during normal
instruction hours. Your cooperation in this area is appreciated.
LOST AND FOUND
Lost and found articles are taken to the School Office. “Lost and found”
articles that are not claimed after a month will be disposed of.
EMERGENCY CLOSING/INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event schools are closed for emergencies or inclement weather,
enough days are built into the year that we will be able to meet the guidelines of
the State without having to extend the calendar year.
For inclement weather or emergency announcements, please listen to the
appropriate T.V. and radio station. (WBAL, Channel 11; WBAL – 1090 A.M.)
You can also call the school and listen for announcement if school is closed or will
be closing early. It is the parent’s responsibility to check to see if school is closed
or will be closing early during inclement weather. Please do not wait to hear from
the school. For the safety of everyone, please pick up your child as soon as you
are made aware of early closing.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE CENTER FOR CREATIVE LEARNING
CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSS OR DAMAGE OF
ANY PERSONAL ITEM BROUGHT BY YOUR CHILD TO THE CENTER.

PLEDGES
Country:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under
God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Christian:
I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag and to the Savior for
whose kingdom it stands, one Savior, crucified, risen, and
coming again, with life and liberty to all who believe.
Bible:
I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God’s Holy Word, and will
make it a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path, and hide
its words in my heart that I may not sin against God.
Children’s Grace
For this new morning and its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For every gift His goodness sends,
We thank Thee, gracious Lord. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy
will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil; For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever.
Amen.
