Attachment A: OurStreet Project Plan Template 2014 Grants of up to $50,000 Applicant: Project name: Grant objectives The OurStreet program supports municipal councils across Victoria to undertake capital works projects that improve or upgrade capital infrastructure in existing retail precincts. Projects must meet one or more of the below objectives. Through the improvement and beautification of strip shopping precincts, funded projects will: improve the physical amenity of local shopping precincts; encourage greater patronage of local strip shopping precincts through the creation of attractive, user-friendly spaces; support increased commercial and community activity in the local area; and help deliver economic benefits through new investment, jobs growth and thriving local communities. 1. Project Need 1.1 Provide an outline of why this project is required. Identify and describe any existing and/or potential issues in the nominated retail precinct that are being addressed by the project and identify how the project aligns with council strategic planning. 1.2 Describe the retail environment in the project area. Include the number and types of retail stores and vacancies and identify any trader sentiment being addressed by this project. 1.3 Describe the consultation that occurred with the local small business community to determine the need for the project. Discuss any feedback obtained through consultation that indicated this project was the best way to help attract customers to the area. You may also attach documentary evidence to this effect to your application. 2. What will the project achieve? 2.1 Identify any outcomes that will result from this project and when you anticipate that they will be achieved. Examples are included for you below and should be deleted prior to submitting your application. - 10% increase in patronage within 6 months of project completion - Growth in local trader association membership due to increased business collaboration *Note that outcomes (consequences of the project) should not be confused with outputs (the delivery of the project). 2.2 Why do you consider this project to be the most effective way of addressing any existing/proposed issues in the nominated retail precinct? 3.
