Converse with all aspects regarding the operation of the water purification treatment
plants and wastewater treatment plants including input with regard to maintenance
functions.

Converse with all aspects regarding the operation of the Scientific Services Section
and delivery of laboratory services with regard to potable water, wastewater and
trade effluent.

Converse with all aspects regarding the control of trade waste and pollution
(stormwater and river).

Converse with all aspects regarding services rendered to the public by the Section,
i.e. consumer water complaints, illegal discharge into municipal sewers and illegal
dumping into water courses.

Responsible for input with regard to forward planning within the Section.
Setting of fixed safety measures which have to be followed in the execution of duties
within the Section, as well as ensuring that such measures are adhered to.

Liaising with the public and industries and the handling of complaints which may be
received.

Handling of certain correspondences pertaining to the Section and as delegated.
Liaison with other Departments within the Council, Department of Water Affairs,
Forestry and Department of Environmental Affairs and Engineering Consultants..

the Division Head.

treatment plants to smaller municipalities (Grahamstown, Joubertina, Humansdorp
and Graaff-Reinet).

development within the wastewater treatment ambit.
