KOTARA BEARS TOUCH SEASON 2015/2016 Rules & Regulations Only registered players may participate in the competition Each team is allowed 7 players on the field at once with unlimited interchanges and reserves; players must be turning 16 or older and be male. No dumping - the ball must be seen to be played with the foot. No violent play will be tolerated. A send-off is an automatic 2-week suspension by order of the Kotara Touch Committee; a second offence may lead to a total ban. Failure to referee results in a total loss of points for the day, plus 5 additional points. Any team who fails to referee on more than one occasion will be brought before the committee and may be evicted from the competition with no refund. Point score: 4ponts for a win, 2points for a draw and 1point for a loss, 0points for a forfeit and -5points for not refereeing. In the event of a forfeit the attending team will have a +5 added to their for and against points. If a minimum of 24 hours notice is given to the president that a team will be forfeiting, the forfeiting team will receive 1 point. A reminder to all teams regarding the rules – we play basic rugby league rules in relation to the play the ball. One marker only, who must mark up straight. Dummy half may run and score, but if tipped it is a handover. No dumping – that is voluntary tagging the defending player. There applys a 5-metre rule between defending team and ruck area. In all cases the referee’s decision is final. No dive over tries from dummy half. Dummy Half has to run at least 5 metres to score a try. The Kotara Touch Association has Public Liability Insurance as a Newcastle City Council requirement. The insurance policy does not cover medical expenses of players who may be injured or suffer illness as a result of playing Touch Football. Also our insurance does not cover any loss of income due to an injury or illness as a result of playing in a Kotara Touch Football Competition. Please note player registration fees do not cover Ambulance transport as a result of injury or illness while playing Touch Football. Our Association will call an ambulance where deemed necessary and advise all players seek their own Private Ambulance Cover to avoid any costs that may be payable. Wet weather may result in the round being called off. Do not ring committee members. A text message will be sent to the coordinator of each team, please contact them first. In the event of a round being called off, simply follow the draw for the following week. Washed out games may be played at the end of the draw if time permits. Finals will be held at the end of the season with the following format: week 1- 1st v 4th, 2nd v 3rd. Week 2 – previous week’s winners in the grand final- anyone wishing to referee in the finals please contact the grading committee.
