Title:
Anatomy of a Dicot Root, Stem, and Leaf
Purpose: To identify the various tissues present and their arrangement in the
vegetative organs of a dicot.
Instructions:
o Draw three labelled plan diagrams of a dicot root, stem and leaf.
o Include the following tissues in your diagrams as appropriate: epidermis,
cortex, endodermis, xylem, phloem, vascular cambium, pith, palisade,
and spongy mesophyll, and guard cells.
o Each diagram must include a calculation for magnification and scale line.
o Diagrams will be evaluated according to the assessment criteria: Data
Collection and Processing.
