Mathematics (1)
Preliminaries numbers lines and functions. Limits and continuity. Derivatives. Applications of
derivatives. Integration. Application of integrals. Transcendent functions. Techniques of
integration.
Prerequisite:--Mathematics for Computing:
This module aims to provide students with some background in sequences and series, and multivariable calculus, and systems of linear equations and their solutions. Infinite series
(convergence, Taylor series, power series), vector Calculus (functions of several variables, partial
Derivatives; double and triple integral over a region), vectors, Linear algebra, Linear equations,
Gaussian elimination, Eigen values and Eigenvectors, introduction to Linear transformation).
Prerequisite: Mathematics (1)
Statistics & Probability:
Discrete random variables. Continuous random variables. The probability density function. The
probability distribution function. Statistics of random variables. Random process. Ergodicity and
stationary. Auto-correlation function. Power spectral density. Estimating the auto-correlation
function and power spectral density from raw data. I/O relations of linear systems.
Numerical Methods:Prerequisite
Programming Fundamentals:
Problem solving: data, algorithms and programs. Programming languages and compilers.
Structure of C program. Constants, variables, operators, expressions. Simple data types and
declarations, functions: prototype, definition, and argument passing. Recursion. Input and output
of values. Control statements, writing simple programs.

IT Concepts:
Introduction, representation, storage, processing and transmission of information by mechanical
means, development of digital devices through valves, transistors and integrated circuits to
fundamentals of computer design, software packages, word-processing, spreadsheets,
presentations, Networks and Internet, Present and possible impacts of IT on society.

System Analysis & Design:
Introducing systems analysis and design. The systems analyst roles, attributes, and place. The
systems development life cycle (SDLC). Introduction to systems analysis, feasibility studies.
System study and system design, implementation and control. Tools for systems analysis and
design.
Prerequisite: Database Fundamentals.
Management Systems Fundamentals:
Introduction: definition and the need for management, The scientific method in studying
management, The importance of management, Evaluation of management theory and
management schools Planning and management decision -making Organizational charts and the
organizational structure ,The importance of directing, Leadership forms and theories ,Motivation
,The communication process Control forms, methods ,and fields of application ,Management
evolution and characteristics of poor management.
