Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
President’s Report
2010 was another tough season for many of our junior and senior teams. This season we fielded
12 junior teams, 7 in the NSW Churches Football Assoc. and 5 in the Granville & Districts Soccer
Football Assoc. We also had 3 senior teams, 1 in the Raahage Cup North competition and 2 in the
RC1 competition.
Congratulations go to our most successful teams, being the Under 8 Reds who won the annual
six-a-side competition as well as finishing runners up in the President’s Cup, and the RC1
Reserves, who won the 2010 Premiership and combined with the RCN 1sts to win the B Grade
Knockout. The Under 10 Whites also made the President’s Cup competition and the Under 15’s
and RCN 1sts reached the semi finals.
Even though many of our teams were disappointed with their season results this year, they can
all be extremely proud of their efforts and commitment.
I would especially like to thank all the coaches, managers and committee members who gave so
much of their time to the club throughout the season – without their efforts our club would
cease to exist.
Thank you also to all the parents, relatives and friends for your help and ongoing support.
Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club is a family club where we actively promote a friendly
and safe environment for all players and supporters, while providing the opportunity to play
competitive soccer.
Thank you once again for your support this year and I look forward to seeing you all again next
season.

Secretary’s Report
Secretary’s
Report
In Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer
Club’s twelfth
season we were able to field nine junior teams: one
each in the Under 16, 15, 13, 12 and 11 age groups and two under 10 and under 8 teams, three mini

Report
teams, one in the under 6 and two
in the under 7
age groups, and three senior teams in the Raahauge
Cup competition. – a total of 15 teams. This is a decrease on the number of teams fielded in 2009, with
the loss of two senior teams and our under 17s, under 14s and 9s (but an additional under 10 team was
entered).
Losing the senior teams was not a surprise and whilst having to drop out of Premier League after finishing
5th in firsts and minor premiers in Premier Reserves in 2009 was disappointing, it was necessary following
the loss of some key personnel and allowed the under 17s to ease into senior soccer a little more easily.
The retirement of most of last year’s Raahauge Cup 1st division squad was responsible for the loss of
overall senior player numbers.
This year, like in 2006, 2008 and 2009, we entered our older junior teams into the competitions of the
Granville & Districts Soccer Football Association whilst our mini, younger junior and senior teams
continued their affiliation with the New South Wales Churches Football Association. This decision was
taken in consultation with team management and the club executive and will be reviewed on an annual
3
Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
basis in light of the changing circumstances of both our club and the NSWCFA. We would like to thank
both these Associations for their support and the competition they have provided.
Registrations were a little down in 2010 but the teams we were able to field filled quickly. Again, like in
2009, some long term players had to be turned away as they attempted to register after the team was
filled. Again, nobody who registered on the first Saturday in February, and agreed to play in the team in
which they were placed, missed out. The appalling weather and disrupted season in 2009 may well be
the reason for the lower player numbers in 2010.
We again had some successful sides in 2010 but the days of us winning half the comps we enter look
over! Our Raahauge Cup First Division Reserves played the grand final against St Anthony/St Pauls,
coming from 4th place to win the competition. Our other successes came outside the regular
competitions with the under 8 Reds winning the six a side competition and a combined RCN/RC1
Reserves team winning the B Grade Knockout Championship. The under 8 Reds lost just one game,
unfortunately Lidcombe didn’t lose any and moved our boys into second place – by a point and the under
10 Whites also finished runners up. The under 15s and Raahauge Cup North Firsts also qualified for semis
whilst a couple of other sides came agonisingly close. These teams and those less successful sides should
all be congratulated for their efforts.
The club’s executive was unchanged in 2010 with our first committee elected under our new constitution
ratified at the 2009 AGM. Peter continued as President and is well known for his expertly cooked
sausages at Everley but less well known for the newsletter printing, general good counsel and all of the
many ‘odd jobs’ he completes. Dorothy continued as canteen manager and does a remarkable job ordering, transporting, keeping the canteen books and spending 4 hours every Saturday manning the
canteen itself. Claudia coordinated the fundraising for 2010 again and managed numerous barbecues at
Woollies with the help of very few. Tom as club coach gives valuable assistance to all coaches with drills,
practical hands – on assistance with teams when necessary, organising the goalkeeping training and again
performing numerous behind the scenes roles. Both Ian Warwick and Phil Rafter attend some particularly
tiresome meetings every months representing our club at the respective Association Meetings.
We also awarded our first Life Memberships at the 2009 AGM with Dorothy and Peter Warwick accepting
this award. In a pleasant surprise I was also nominated and I accepted proudly. Another new activity in
2010 was the provision of club shirts for each junior player. These seemed very well received by both
parents and players and also made sure every team looked very smart on a Saturday morning.
Don’t forget that the registration days are the first two Saturdays in February at Granville Park between
9am and 11am. All registrations must be accompanied by full fees. Thanks again for a terrific 2010 and I
look forward to spending next year’s cold winter Saturdays with you and all the new members who will
join us for 2011.

Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Under 6 Team Report
The team started off with basic soccer skills like learning how to kick the ball under the influence of Harry Simidis –
Under 6’s Coach 2010. Every Win and Draw was accepted with great fair play and the enthusiasm with all the kids
looking forward to lolly bags at the end of every match. As time went on they were no longer afraid to attack the
ball especially when defending, and started to pass the ball rather than tackling their own players.
As the season progressed and we were mainly on a winning streak, it constantly built confidence in our players
which made the games so much more to look forward too. All players showed great energy, attitude and skills to
last a lifetime on fair-play, team Spirit and communication. We thank the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and
other family members for your support.
We look forward to the next year in building dreams in soccer and training the next team for the Soccer ‘World Cup’
Australia.

Aaran Bath
Team Captain, Second year playing; Aaran’s speed and skill helped the successful wins for McCredie Under 6’s.
Always at training and attending every game. Good communication skills and supported his team mates. (Highlights:
Scoring goal at every game played)
Ben Hardy
First year playing; Little Pocket Rocket, not to be judged by his size. He used to run circles around everyone with
enthusiasm. Ben had great training attendance and got along well with his team mates. (Highlights: Scoring first
goal at first season played)
Dean Simidis
Second year playing; Dean loves soccer and tries hard. By the end of the season Dean found his position up front
and whenever the ball came his way he was always determined to win the ball. (Highlights: Scoring first goal at
second season played)
Edward Tu
Second year playing; at the beginning of the season Edward would attack as well as help defend. Edward is fairly
solid on the ball. By the end of the season Edward found his niche as a solid defender where he would greatly hinder
the oppositions attack as not many balls would get past him. (Highlights: Great defence and Game play)
Fady Addoug
Second year playing; missed quite a lot of matches however when he was always on the field he would always have
lots of energy to run everywhere and fight hard to tackle the ball. When he was on the field his presence was felt.
(Highlights: Scoring goal at nearly every game played)
Indica Brown
First year playing; initially was a little timid however as the season progressed she got to know her team and
became our little fighter in the middle. Indica gave her best in every game she played and had great attendance at
both training and weekend games (Highlights: Getting player of the match 3 times)
Jasmine Achi
First year playing; Jasmine our gun, like a speeding bullet was is a wonderful player right at the beginning of her first
game. She had great excitement for every training and looked forward to every game. She was an essential player
for McCredie.

Under 7 White Team Report
The super six under 7's, played soccer and we all had fun. Winning losing, drawing matches, we
managed to smile and laugh our way through the season. For most of our boys, this was their
first season of soccer and they all showed great improvements in skills over the season. More
importantly, they also showed great sportmanship and learnt how to support one another in
order to play as a team.
A big thankyou to Luke, our coach, who has endless patience and a good understanding of our
little prodigies and much time devoted to the children. We were also blessed with parents who
shared our enjoyment of the boys attempting to master this co-ordinated game of foot and ball.
Abdallah El-bayaa. This was Abdallah's first year of soccer and he developed skills in goal and
forward position. This included the co-ordination to connect when kicking the ball, achieving
good distance from kicks. He also showed ability supporting players in forward positions to
penetrate the opponent's half, creating opportunities to score. Well done Abdallah.
Ryan Booker. Ryan played either in defensive or forward positions, he developed the ability to
sweep across the field, stopping opponents and sending the ball back to the forwards
on many occasions. He is a reliable player when his team is under pressure. Ryan listens to
instructions and acts on them which makes him a valuable player. Well done Ryan.
Mosese Masima. Mosese had played soccer before and this showed in his understanding of how
the game works. Mosese was up front and forward, the opponents knew he was there.
His skills in being able to kick and run, rewarded the team with many goals, and as the season
progressed, his ball control improved so he could steer the ball and retrieve so as to better
attack our opponents goal. Well done Mosese.
William Durbidge. William was Mr Versatile this season, helping in goals, defence and forward.
Every team needs a player who can get in and do the job. William, along the way, learnt to pass
the ball, defend and in forward position, attack the goal, as well as help position his team mates
to score. Well done William.
Lachlan McFadden. Lachlan brought a smile and gentleness to the team while learning how to
play in goals and forward position. His understanding of soccer and how to kick the ball, pass and
defend improved as the season progressed. Lachlan was our best player at throw-ins, always
gaining ground on our opponents whilst edging closer to their goal. Well done Lachlan.
Oliver Skiller. Oliver also played across the field in goals, defending or forward. Oliver learnt how
to kick the ball, sometimes sending it up past our opponents, causing them to turn and chase the
ball and reversing their attack He stood his ground in defence, stopping many players. He was
a great help - you can count on Oli. Well done Oliver.

Under 7 Red Team Report
A great season, a great team. The whole season, right from the get go this little team trained
hard and played even harder. The boys worked hard on technique and ball skill all year and they
got rewarded constantly with winning. Fitness was also key factor to our successful year. Week
in and week out we developed in to a better, more confident side which allowed us to play some
great football and bond well as a team. A team which consisted of a few first timers who tried
hard every week and developed into good players towards the end of the season. The
professionals of the team who have played before were outstanding. As a team we were never
intimidated by the size and age of the other teams we challanged. We always stepped up and
gave it 100%. This die hard attitude is what champions are made of.
Rahul; A bit shy at first but developed well amongst an older team. Great potential!
Jacob; Another young player with lots to offer, keep up the good work.
Victor; Great sportsmanship with the right attitude.
Abraham; Always brought a cheeky smile to games and training. Keep Smiling!
Elias; Enthusiasm PLUS, was our best goal keeper.
John Luke; Played well this year. Great to see your ball skill developing.
John Paul; Can always depend on him to bust up the opposition. Well done!
Anthony; A great asset to the team with good pace and ability to score. Thumbs up!
Shaleen; Highest Goal scorer for the year. OUTSTANDING!
Christian; The POCKET ROCKET scored the best goal of the year against Kellyville.(YEAH MAN).
Thanks Norm (manager) and all the parents for a great season. Also would like to thank the Club
for their support throughout the year.
Can’t wait till next year!

Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Under 8 Red Team Report
We started unfit as usual from the Summer Holidays and but once the season started everyone was just in form and
played great soccer without fail. We won every game except those against the strong Lidcombe side.
A special thank you to Tom List who trained the team in Sam’s absence, a big thank you to Jasmin and Angela for
looking after the team each Saturday. After making it to the president’s cup, we finished the season at 2 nd place
losing against Lidcombe Churches in the grand final.
We measured our success by the players that turned up every week for training and the actual games and trying
their little hearts out to win and apply what they have learnt at training in the real game. They absolutely loved
turning up to training and could not wait for Saturday to come so they can play a challenging game.
Our Team just proved how much we are worth in the 6 a side competition. The other team’s coaches were shocked
to see an U8 team that played such fantastic soccer. It was a challenge to keep the kids steady as they were full of
energy kicking the ball around and running around and swinging on the swings with lollies in their mouths! In the
grand final against Lidcombe both teams played outstanding soccer. It was a great feeling to win the 6-a-side in
2010. Sam couldn’t have asked for any more this season and the boys have proved that they can play as a team and
have fun at the same time. Great effort boys you are all to be commended.
Qais Sungkar : Qais is no longer the shortest player on the team, but is the most talented player. He played as a
striker and gave his best at all times.
Joe Azzi : Joe is one of the fastest and is one of our main goal scorers for the team. He has powerful kicks and a
mean right foot where he can take a shot from outside the keeper’s box and put through magnificent goal. Keep up
the good work!
Andrew Ibraheem : Andrew is another player who is solid, strong and has talent. He is the defender for the team.
He listens to the coach and watches the game carefully. He keeps hold of his position and he is always at the right
place at the right time.
Joshua Elkerr : Joshua is a great defensive player. His main role was to clear the ball from the danger zone. Joshua
has powerful high kicks and he is great at taking corner kicks and goal kicks. Joshua has never missed training and
tried his best to improve.
Robert Kahila : Robert plays in the centre of the field trying to clear the ball to his forwards so that they can score a
goal for the team. He has improved his running skills and ball skills which is good to see that he will be ready for next
year.
Nedim Fazlic : Nedim is our midfielder and made outstanding opportunities for our strikers concentrating on passing
the ball early, before the defence gets set.
Michael Dann : Michael tried his best at all times and is always the first to be at the games and training and always
one of the last players to leave and is a great example for any player.
Safwan Hamdan : Safwan (Saff the man) a player full of surprises. One day he came to training and shocked
everyone and that Saturday at the game he was the star player in defence, stopping every player and clearing the
ball from danger zone, it was so difficult to pass him that day. After that week end he was one of our key players in
defence.
Jamal Mcdahrou : Jamal is the keeper for the team. He is the most special player of the team being a keeper as he is
the player who saves all our goals. Jamal is a wonderful player who always listens and strives to do his best at all
times. He has saved magnificent balls in goals and also played a wonderful full back position.
Kenneth Tong : Kenneth tried his best all year and it was great to see one of the smaller players take on the bigger
guys with no fear. Great stuff Kenneth!
Hashmat Sardar : Hashmat is one of the quietest players on the field. He strives all the time to achieve his goals. He
always played his best at all times to help his team mates score.
I would like to thank all parents for all the efforts and co-operation they have put in every week. Thank you, to the
association and committee for all the help and support. See you all back in 2011.

Under 8 White Team Report
A great season by the under 8s that was only a game or so from being sensational. This team played
above themselves all year through considerable difficulties but we had our 2 statements we have played
with and believed in strongly “Always try your best” and “never give up” This team lived by these mottos
and did themselves and our club proud.
We had 6 of our Under 7 whites from 2009, 2 of the under 7s Blacks and 3 new players. Of these players,
3 are under 7s and 1 is under 6s but it did not stop us. Unfortunately we lost 2 players along the way this
year but committing to a team means turning up to every game and every training on time. You let down
the others in our group when you don’t turn up.
We won 10 of our games this year but we were unable to get over the 2 strong St Bernadette’s teams
who finished 1st and 2nd. We could have snatched second if we won the last game but the Lions were too
strong and we went down 1-0.
The highlights of the year were our performance against eventual comp winners St Bernadette’s Tigers.
We came back from 3-1 down to win 5-3 in a brilliant display. We were knocked out of the 6 a side in the
semis but gave finalists and div 1 champions Lidcombe a scare along the way. We scored more goals than
any team in the competition.
The team trained hard all year and their skills developed accordingly. I was especially pleased with the
team’s ability to work together and use space and positions at such a young age. We work hard for each
other and move the ball well and I look forward to 2011 with the Under 9 Whites.
The Team Was
Amit – Midfield – Amit started tentatively but worked hard and developed really well over the year.
Made some great passes and tackles and loved to run into space and bang the ball forward.
Yunus – Midfield – The baby of the team but age and size did not stop him. Always tried hard and scored
a great goal in the 3-3 draw vs. the Tigers. Always trained hard and a really good kid as well.
Yusuf – Midfield – Found his position as our central midfielder – Classy left foot passes and the heart of a
lion, he never gave an inch against the bigger players. Scored a bag full as well.
Arber – Defender – Little but huge in commitment and talent. Great off both feet and highly skilful.
Works hard for the team and makes great wide runs and strong passes forward.
Elias – Midfield and Goalkeeper – Elias improved out of sight this year. Loved kicking the ball forward and
chased hard in defence. His skills improved all year. He did a great job in goals saving many chances and
his kicks from goals got us on the attack.
Tam – Forward – Worked hard up front. Got into goal scoring positions and finished nicely when called
on. Chased the opposition down and always gave his all at training and games.
Will – Forward – Inspirational player with his undying will to win and his never say die attitude. Fast and
strong Will worked really well with crosses to his players and scored some good goals. His passing
improved and he gave everything every match.
Milos – Midfield and Goalkeeper – Hates goals but is very good at it. Does well on the field as well and
scores and creates his share of goals.
Tom – Midfield and Goals – Tommy tried his best all year. Was good in goals and kicked the ball forward
and put in his best efforts.
10
Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Viththegan – Midfield – Improving every week and is becoming a really good little player, tackles hard
and passes to his team mates every game.
Jackson – Defender – Strong fast and ever reliable is Jackson. Come Saturday morning he puts on the
game face and it is all business. Long passes and strong runs and tackles, Jackson made many crucial
saves.
I would like to thank the parents and supporters of the Under 8s White. It has been a pleasure to coach
your children this year and I appreciate your support of our team and our club.
I would also like to thank my Wife and Manager of the Under 8s White, Lyn. The amount of work that
goes on behind the scenes to have a successful year on the field is amazing and to have the support of a
wonderful manager ensures that everything is always organised and players are always on time at games
and training.
Hope you all enjoyed the year and I will see you next year
Best Wishes

Under 10 Red Team Report
For just about all of the boys in this team it was their first year with our club, if not their first season of
competitive soccer. This meant that this season would be a learning curve for future years and the main
objective for the year was improvement. They didn’t let us down with their individual and team skills
improving out of sight.
At the start of the season we had a few tough games, the teams that finished the regular season
1st, 2nd and 3rd all in a row. The boys never lost heart though and stuck with it. By the second round we
had improved enough to really test these teams and become a strong defensive unit that wasn’t easy to
breakdown.
At the end of the season we finished in a congested middle of the competition. This was a great
effort for a group of boys who hadn’t played together before against teams who had been together for 2
to 3 years. If they stick together next season they will only continue to improve and hopefully get to the
next step of semi-finals.
Our team for the year was as follows:
Alexander – made the position of left back his own. Wasn’t afraid to go in and make strong tackles
against players on a breakaway and improved his kicking skills throughout the season.
Antoine – was a versatile player and could fill numerous positions whether it be up front or in the
midfield. Scored an important goal early in the season to secure one of our first wins.
Dominic – was strong in the centre of midfield for us this season. When he played the way he was facing
and released the ball early he would set up many breakaways for us.
11
Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Jehad – a player who floated from up front to the midfield. Even when he was supposed to be up front he
would drop back to help out and put us back on the attack.
Edmund – filled our right back position and was a very strong defender. He set up many plays from the
back, dispossessing the opposition and then clearing the ball up field to one of his team mates.
Harrison – played the majority of the season on the right side of midfield but could also hold his own in
the back line when called on. Made a memorable take in the dying minutes of a game to help secure a
one goal win.
Joel – held our back line together. He was our sweeper and cleaned up any mistakes made by players in
front of him. Can read the game very well and always seemed to pop up at just the right time for us.
Lawrence – started the season up front for us and scored a couple of good goals. He was then switched to
the midfield and excelled there directing his team mates where he wanted them and encouraging them.
Luke – was our main striker for the season. His pace up front was a great weapon and saw him run
straight past opposition defenders to get to the ball first. Scored a lot of important goals through out the
year.
Marc-Anthony – developed into a really good full back by the end of the season. He could fill any position
along the back line and his strong clearing kicks got us out of trouble a lot of times.
Matthew – started the season having not played before and had to learn the game on the run. Playing in
the midfield the most memorable moment of his season was scoring his first goal.
Mohammed – was our enforcer. He used his size and speed to his advantage. Usually playing as stopper
would take runs with the ball from the back to put us back on the attack. Scored a good goal from a free
kick outside the 18 yard box.
Nicholas – a player who could fill any position on the field. Was a great tackler, scored a goal to win us a
tight fought game, saved many goals when he played goalkeeper. He is a strong all round player and
saved us many times.
Noor – when he was able to make it to the games he was a strong goalkeeper who kept many teams at
bay. Knew how to position himself well and frustrated many opposition strikers by making the right
decision.
Ryan – has a strong left boot on him and when he held his position and put boot to ball would set up a lot
of our attacking runs. Some of our goals were set up directly off his boot from midfield.
With their first season together behind them now they can only become stronger as a team. I
hope to see all of them back again at registration time next season.
I would like to thank the parents for getting their boys to training and to the games on Saturday

whenever there was a change or cancellation, your help was really appreciated.
Hope to see you all again next season and hopefully earn a semi-final spot.

Under 10 White Team Report
It was great to welcome back 13 of last year’s 15 players and with one new player, this team was set from
the first registration day.
We played some good soccer during the year and lost just 2 games in the regular season – both against
the eventual premiers. In the six a side competition we made the semi final and we unfortunately lost
the semi of the President’s Cup in a terrific and close match.
We uncovered some new talent this year with Jesse graduating to be our first pick keeper by the end of
the year. Jesse was not afraid to come out and defused plenty of dangerous situations quickly. Jacob
was therefore freed up to play in the central defence, and with Kabin at sweeper, made a pretty
impregnable wall on most Saturdays. Kabin only started at sweeper this year and with his ability to read
the game and his speed, he did a great job. The rest of the defence was made up of Biyan with his mighty
clearances, on the right and Matty wide on the left. Matty’s control has really come on and he usually
distributes the ball well to his team mates.
James and Chrissie played in a variety of positions during the year, but most often filled the midfield or
central defensive positions. James ability to clear the ball long and his aggression in tackles are priceless.
Chrissie played some great games, who will forget his 50m run in the six a side or his energy against
Kellyville.
By season’s end our centre half pairing of Alibaset and Ehren was set. These guys never stop running and
tackling. Alibaset is the best tackler in the comp. Ehren was probably our most improved player and
probably won man of the match more than anybody else this year. Out wide Cameron on the left and
Daniel on the right made for some tenacious wide attacks. Both boys look for the pass and the cross and
never give up on chasing an opposing player. Kaise, our newest member also played wide on the right
but unfortunately flew overseas mid season and only played one match after June.
Up front the team was well served by Ronan and Rusheel. Ronan had a great season. Sometimes I yell
from the sideline (sometimes), but every time I do, I can be sure Ronan will look up, find out what I want
and give me a thumbs up. Rusheel had a great game in the President’s Cup final and finished a very
profitable season in great style. Rusheel at his best is unstoppable, with speed, a powerful shot and a
desire to score.
We boast great parent support in this team. The parents support each child, the coach and the manager
and enjoy each other’s company. This is certainly the engine room for the kids who get a great example
each week of how to play and how to work as a team.
And now to the manager. Nothing is too hard for Claudia and her support of the boys and her assistance
to each family is certainly not taken for granted. Legend.
Thanks to everybody, players, parents and supporters for a great season. Two runners up in two years,
must be time for a win!

This was the first year for Tom and I to coach and manage this team. We didn’t know on our first trial games
where to position the kids, or what skills or fitness the kids had. On the second trial we had a better idea and
we did better. The parents were certainly happy with the results. The competition started and the first game
came along and we won it. The kids were happy, but the parents were happier!
#1 Tommy Palmer - Goal keeper. He improved a lot of his skills, as the season went on he showed a lot of
effort in the game, saving many shots.
#2 Wesley Swalah Mcdahrou - Right defence. He has been a very quiet player throughout the year, but what
he lacked in talking he made up for in great defending. He’s a good runner and a good team player.
#3 Sarkis Bou-Francis – Left mid. It was a pleasure to see what Sarkis could do with the ball, passing attacking
crossing and setting up goals.
#4 Andrew Weatherby – Left Defence. Andrew did a great job in left defence; he also played centre defender
Helping Lazar and Emir. He has never missed a training night and is committed to the team.
#5 Gavin Weatherby – Right defensive mid. A huge improvement in team plays, and developed a good playing
technique between Kane and himself.
#6 Jason Rizk – Centre mid. He was very passionate about his position; he has improved in controlling the ball.
#7 Lazar Mijatovic – Centre defence. It was a pleasure to have Lazar in our team, his marking, tackling and
positional play was outstanding, he also took on the position of goal keeper for a few games he showed some
skill in goals as well.
#8 John Kazzi – Striker. John was the top scorer this season, he is a very good player, had many skills including
Fast running, Great kicks on him and good tackling. He could play anywhere on the field.
#9 Josip Markovic – Centre Mid. He has improved throughout the season clearing the ball in every opportunity
he had, he was a very quiet kid, Any advice we gave he used, and put into practice. Using a lot of it in the
games proving him to be a good player for the team.
#10 Joseph Rizk – Right mid. He took every chance he got to run with the ball and shoot. He has a very strong
kick. There is a big improvement in his ball skills.
#11 Azal Mekhaeel – Left Striker. Worked very well with John and Joseph, Pushing himself to his limit doing
the best he could do. He was everywhere on the field helping the midfields and the defence yet still taking
shots.
#12 Kane Carder – Left defensive mid. Very fast energetic player, with lots of enthusiasm (we don’t know
where he gets the energy from). He learned from his mistakes and corrected himself. Kane has improved a lot
during the season, resulting in him scoring a goal.
#13 Celeste El-Rahi – Left mid. She is very strong in defensive positions, Making outstanding tackles, and
following through to clear the ball.
#14 Nicole Weatherby – Right mid. She played to the best of her ability, never giving up and she worked hard
to get the ball back in our possession.
#15 Emir Biber – Centre back. Played very good in the defence , clearing nearly every ball that came his way,
he is a good solid defender and is great at keeping the ball in the opposition’s half.
Thank you to the Parents, who supported the team throughout the season, brought the kids to the games on
time, and put on the team official jacket.
I really enjoyed coaching this team as they did not give up and put 110% into the games, bringing commitment
and dedication. It was a great season, and I can see that the kids will go very far. My thanks to Tom the
manager who has put a lot of time and effort into making everything run smoothly, and his enthusiasm
towards soccer.

Under 12 Team Report
Our season is over for another year, the boys have achieved so much and come so close to make the
finals, but results didn't come our way. But the boys closed out the season with a really good win, that
they should realize that they can play, when they play as a team. Its not all about one player here or there
but as a team and that is what we can take from this season and bring it through to next season. So we
hope that all the boys will return back next year.
Thank you for the parents for supporting the team and getting the boys to the game and also to Tom who
has worked so hard on making sure the team was prepared and getting the boys ready for the game,
even though he had his under 8's. Which sometimes clashed. Also the support team who assisted Tom
and you know who you are.
Brandon Hamlin: has always been our goal keeper, but this year he has made it his own position by
putting the effort in training and extra training that Tom ran. Well done.
Aiden Beehag: he has become confident in the sweeper position and improving every year since i've been
with this team. Now he needs to believe in his ability to speak more to rally his team.
Jason Tran: well he is definitely a really good right back and worked very hard this season. Very solid with
the back 4.
Willem Booker: new to our team this season and played a very solid defensive game all year.
Sam Killick: is a player that you can put him in any position and he'll do the job for you. A wonderful
player to watch and put 100% all the time.
Joshua McGuire: has improved alot in his defensive game and always work hard getting in the way or
taking it off the opposition.
John Youssef: Well done for scoring your very first goal and it comes from working hard in the midfield.
Has improved so much and is one of our youngest players on the team playing above his age.
Emily Pereira: had a slow start to the year but towards the end she showed that she can play when she
puts her mind to it.
Jahid Sardar: One of newer players, when he concentrates on the task he has been given, he plays very
well and that is why he scored his first goal on the last game of the season.
Arthur Maroun: well done, you are a very good player when your mind is on the job and that showed
through the season.
Sajad Saifi: played really well through the season.
Cameron Hunt: when he plays to the game plan and work as a team he is on fire, with his passing and
bringing it through the middle.
Peter Youssef: you are a work horse, running everywhere. A wonderful player and enjoyable to watch.
Clayton Telfer: another young player above his age, first year for team and worked really well upfront
with his attacking game.
Surammay Nagar: another new player to the team and also to soccer. very keen to play every time and
the more he learns about the game the more he will improve.

Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Under 13 Team Report
2010 was a very different year for the McCredie under 13s. This side has had very little change
since starting in the under 6s but in 2010 a number of players moved or decided not to play
which allowed us the opportunity to welcome 5 new players, 4 of whom had never before
played.
We started the season strongly and at the halfway mark of the year were sitting comfortably in
third place. Unfortunately our inability to score goals, particularly against the lower ranked sides
really hurt us and we had a very bad run late in the second round. After one very narrow loss
(conceding a penalty in the last 10 seconds) we fell from 3rd to 6th place as the teams close
behind us leapfrogged us on the table. With two games to go we only had to beat teams 7 and 8
but we were not able to do so.
Even after having such a poor second round the side only lost 2 games at home (against the top
two teams) and still boasts a pretty incredible record of having lost just 4 games at Everley since
under 6s - that’s 4 out of about 85 home games.
EJ Taufa was welcomed to soccer in 2010. I don’t know if we have won him over from rugby yet,
but he was certainly a delight to have in the side. Everybody’s mate and great fun, I think his
highlight was the Kings Sevens where he kept very well indeed.
Wil Wark was the rock of the side. Certainly opposition coaches talked about him and the call,
“keep it away from number 9” was often made. Wil’s ability in the air was his biggest
development this year but his greatest strength is still probably his ability to get on with
everybody and help everybody get the best out of themselves.
Gonzalo Diaz is our very solid right back. Gonzalo has for a long time been part of a very solid
defence and this year he was certainly required to work harder. Again Gonzalo is a delight to
have in the side and his determination to win every ball and every match is a great asset for a
footballer.
Ali Lahlou joined us in 2010 and slotted in at centre back. Our defence took a caning with
players not returning in 2010 and we were looking for a player who could mark up, fight for the
ball and commit in the air. Ali did a tremendous job all season.
Keely Sharwood is a long term player with our team and probably found a home at left back. In
the past Keely has moved around positionally a lot, and whilst she wasn’t always left back, she
played there strongly this year and was pretty much the first choice for the position.
Kerem Sevinc is a very popular team member and knows all about playing left midfield. Almost
the highlight of my season was Kerem hitting the crossbar. Doh! So close to scoring, now that
would have been something!
James Valencia was usually centre midfield, but also had a few goes at left back and also at
sweeper where he played very well. James is a very important player to us and his strength of
play coupled with his utility value certainly assists us in changing our options during a game.
16
Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Abulfazel Ahmadi was our key midfielder in 2010. Abulfazel worked hard to develop his passing
game and worked very well with Wil, James, Alfred and Mohammad through the middle of the
park. Abulfazel also scored a couple of cracking goals which will become more frequent as this
diminutive player gets bigger and stronger.
Aywan Suleiman played mostly right midfield but by season’s end was finding a home in the
central halves. His second half in the must win game against Castle Hill was outstanding. In that
match his tenaciousness in fighting for the ball and his ability to stand up in a game that
mattered is very positive looking forward to 2011.
Alfred Chuol started in the backs but as the season progressed moved into midfield where he
was very effective. Alfred is very quick and out wide this caused some opposing teams some real
problems. Alfred caught the train up from Liverpool for training each week and his friendship
with the Granville school boys (EJ, Wil, Ali and Kerem) makes for a very happy team
environment.
Joey Nader left for overseas in July and, don’t tell Joey this, but we didn’t win another game!
Joey played mostly up front and played some beautiful balls for Mahammad to score from. Joey
continues to develop his skills and his passing game in particular.
Mahammad Abdul Hamid was welcomed back after a few seasons away this year. He started
the season very strongly scoring regularly, but found finishing more difficult as the season went
on. Clearly a player the opposing teams had to watch out for. Mahammad scored his 150 th goal
for the club this season.
Rony Andraos was new to the team and brought his blistering speed with him. Skill wise Ronny
is working hard but his speed alone put him into a few great goal scoring opportunities which he
finished well.
Shayan Kashef unfortunately missed far too many games and we certainly missed his speed and
skill. Shayan as a long term player also has a good understanding of how the team plays and
how to get the best from his game – which makes it hurt all the more when he isn’t there.
Certainly not our most successful season results wise – actually the opposite – but the
camaraderie amongst the team and the ability of the new guys to slot in so well made for a very
enjoyable season with the guys (and girl!).
Thank you to Carolynne who managed the side making numerous phone calls and organising
lifts. Thanks also to both Gonzalo (snr) and Juan who helped transport the 4 boys up from
Liverpool each week. And thanks to all the parents who supported the team every Saturday.

Under 15 Team Report
From the outset, this was always going to be a tough year. This team nearly didn’t exist. With a lack of
under 15 players signing up, re-enforcements were gathered from the u14’s who were in the same
predicament. The boys then started the season missing a couple of players, and their coach, and got
smashed in the first couple of games to bruise their confidence and spirit. As the saying goes, “When the
going gets tough, the tough getting going”, and the boys certainly did. Every player in this team knew, if
they had any chance of turning this season around, they would all have to step up and push each other to
be better, and this is exactly what they did. The younger boy’s pushing the older boy’s to play better, just
to keep their positions. They trained harder, and the results came. It was great to watch, and as a coach
and parent, seeing these boys back themselves to win, game after game to make the finals after such
significant losses, was quite inspiring. Great work boys!
Emmanual Eid - What a champ, what a player, what a goalie. He can jump, he can dive and he can save.
Manny is one of the corner-stone players of this team. We are all extremely confident in his abilities.
Many times, when we were under the pump, and the score-line looked like it was about to blow out,
Manny would jump in and pluck the ball from the air. It may have been his sisters dance lessons that
taught him how to fly, or it could have been Jacob’s threats to punch him if he let another one in!
Junior Clarke - Junior is an outstanding player who inspires others. He bamboozles the opposition with
his skills. Always the “go to” person for the team, he controlled the centre of the park, with damaging
runs, through balls, and powerful shots on goal. As Captain, Junior carries the team with his confidence
and his competitive spirit means he never gives up.
Jacob Clarke - Definitely the quieter of the Clarke boys, he is never afraid to show he also has some
moves. After a slow start, he proved he too has a golden boot by scoring a well deserved goal after a
number of close misses. He is a great utility and team player.
Mark Balaz -Mark was the driving force of the backline defenders. He would never stop, and continue to
defend as fast and as hard as he could. With terrific support from the other backs, his leadership skills
started to show in this role this year. Mark has a great influence on the players in this team, and his
dedication to this team’s defensive line is exceptional and inspiring for the rest of the players.
David Youssef - David is a skilled defender who never gives up. David can also play goalie. This may
explain the few times he stuck his hand out inside the 18 yard box. He has great counter attack skills,
which surfaced this year, as he was able to get past his man and create some attacking runs through the
middle of the park.
Paul Youssef - Paul has always been an outstanding defender. He never gives up, and wins the contest
for the ball through dogged determination. Many times when the opposition looked like they were going
to score, Paul would snuff out their attack. He gets better every year, and is a pleasure to watch.
Jason Youssef - Jason has great ability and talent, and we can always count on him to be a leader in this
team. He struggled this year with some injuries and tiredness, and so wasn’t always at his best. When he
was, however, he owned the right side of the park, moving around the opposition’s midfield and defence
with ease and flare. It’s always great to see him at his best.
Kameel Andraos - Kameel has been an outstanding player in midfield. A new player to this team, he
started slow, but once he had gelled with the rest of the boys, got better every game. He has gained
some valuable skills and has impressed the coach with his improvement throughout this year. He is a
great runner of the ball and tough defensive layer. Kameel is definitely an asset to any future team.
Abe Sousan - Abe is a great utility player. He shows determination, competitiveness and an infectious
attitude that keeps the whole team positive. Only his overall fitness lets him down, but he is unashamed
of asking for a rest so he can go back on later to give another 110%. He is a great team player.
18
Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Jordan Sarmento - Maybe “The flash“, would be an apt name. He is our ultimate utility player. He is all
over the field running like it was the “Stawell gift”. He has great ball skills, coupled with speed. He could
thwart the oppositions attack, then counter attack, and score a few goals along the way. He is one of the
many younger players who certainly helped changed this teams momentum this year.
Jeremy Gonzales - Jeremy is like a little bulldog. He will chase every ball, cleanup every play, and try to
score from every move. He will never give up, and positions himself well. Jeremy has scored many goals
this year, many from sheer determination, when there was never a goal to be had. His skill is his attitude.
If only we could bottle it. A joy to coach, and to watch, he is absolutely everywhere in the opposition’s 18
yard box!
Jawad “Joey” Zeineddine - Through the season, Joey got better as a utility player. His hard runs, and
placing himself on the field strategically, had the opposition scared, especially up front. Joey played a
great role in helping the team improve. He scored a well deserved goal, and with the occasional through
ball, he setup a few others. Considering he missed some games and some training, he was able to help
the team lift and win.
George Elcheikh - George is a quality player who can always be found practicing before training, and on
the weekends. His efforts did not go unnoticed, and he was great on the wing. George’s ability in both
attack and defence, to foresee what the opposition is going to do, allows him to position himself perfectly
and beat his opposition. A tireless attacker, who very often would score, as well as send some great
passes for others to score. He is another inspirational player in this team and was well rewarded with
some spectacular goals this year for his effort.
Jesse Skiller - Jesse is the gentle giant. His height gave him an advantage in the 18 yard box, and was
unlucky not to score from that position. Jesse, who was used to being a goalie, found himself a little out
of sorts as a forward this year, but has new found fame as the tallest attacking player in the crowd off a
corner. A couple more practice sessions, and he can become a great forward, and score a few off
headers. Great work Jessie.
Dean Docker - Dean is a very determined player who cemented himself early on as one of our toughest
defenders. Another player who never gives up, he makes the oppositions’ attack work for absolutely
every ball and helped to stifle the oppositions attacking raids. The quality of his skills improved as the
year went on and he was a powerful asset to the team this year.
Thanks must go to the player’s parents this year. Their support was a major factor in the turn-around of
this team. Our cheer squad in true McCredie fashion, was loud faithful, and I am proud say that their
dedication paid off with the team making the finals. We were beaten by a better side on the day, but the
effort of every player of this team till the final whistle summed up the determination that produced what
I believe was an extremely successful year. Great work boys!

Under 16 Team Report
This was a very tough year for the boys. It was always going to be a big challenge stepping up to
division 1 soccer. Despite signing up a number of new players we were unfortunately short
players throughout the season. For most matches we were able to field 11 players but to
compete at division one soccer, we need to be able to field a full squad of at least 14 players. On
a number of occasions we either played the full match or part of it with less than 11 players. This
was due to a few players disappearing before we even started the season and though we tried to
get replacements we were unable to do so as people had already made commitments
elsewhere. We then had a number of injuries that effectively crippled our season though we
fought on and were in finals contention up until the last 2 weeks. We lost Eloy for the majority of
the season and we lost Cameron for most of the 2nd half of the season. We hope both these
players are recovered for next year.
With no option to rest players during the season we are very grateful that more of the boys were
not injured during the season. The ability to rest a player after taking a knock was key to us
avoiding further injury. Our opposition with their full substitution benches had this luxury. Our
boys would rush back onto the field as they knew that while they were off the field the rest of
the team had to work even harder as we were a player down.
Nearly all our matches this season can be summarized as follows - we dominated the first half
and were ahead going into the half-time break. The second half was tough as the oppositions
ability to field fresh legs from a full substitution bench meant we spent the majority of the half
defending our lead as we were playing against15-16 players. The boys determination and heart
in facing such a battle nearly every week of the season was inspiring. Throughout the season we
showed that our 11 players could beat all our opposition 11 v 11. The key factor against us was
having no substitutes.
Thanks to all the boys – Cameron, Hayden, Patrick, Eloy, Jeremy, Abdul, Nick, Trung, Mushtaba,
Mohammed Abed, Mohammad Rahimi and Anthony.
Thanks to Anthony & Carlos for their assistance each week. Also thanks to all the parents for
assisting with lifts and their support throughout the season. I do hope all the boys return next
year but wish them all the best in all their endeavours

The great thing about having a group of good friends and relatives playing together is the
understanding on the field and the close camaraderie. The down side is that when there is a
wedding – we all go, when there is a family function – we’re all in, and when it comes to 3.15pm
we are all on our way to the game from work!
Our Peruvian and Mexican team was joined by an Afghani and a Turk, and they were most
welcome, with Mirwais adding some speed and Hakan strength in goals.
When we had everybody at the match we did well, defeating the teams that placed second and
third during the rounds and playing some very attractive South American football. We did suffer
at times from being undermanned and it was frustrating surrendering some games due to player
numbers rather than player skill.
In the end we finished 5th (and due to one team losing points – we jumped into 4th place for the
semi finals). The semi final being played at an earlier time did not suit our work shifts at all and
we suffered our worst defeat – to a team we had previously beaten.
In the night knockout competition, the side won through to the grand final before being assisted
with extra player numbers from the RC1 Reserves to take the final. A nice way to finish off the
season.
We would like to thank Mohammad Rahimi, Mushtaba Nazary and Eloy Calderon for being our
associate linesmen during the season.

Guildford McCredie Uniting Soccer Club – 2010 Annual Report
Raahauge Cup First Division Report
Despite both grades finishing in the top 5 last year in the premier league we decided that we needed to
rebuild the team around reliable players. Last year the unreliability of key players meant there was too
much doubling up and even though we had a fantastic result it was a long season. This meant we would
not be able to field a competitive squad for premier league and instead dropped back to RC1.
A number of changes to the competition meant we were facing a tougher task than we first anticipated;
which is not ideal in a rebuilding year. The RC1 competition was significantly stronger due to less premier
league teams. The introduction of interchange after the first round allowed much greater flexibility within
the 2 team squad of the RC1 competition. This meant both 1st and reserve grade were significantly
stronger. Also, it meant more team management as this was a new change to all the players.
We were fortunate that we were able to bring a number of the U17s into the RC1 squad – silver lining in
the U17s being unable to field a team this year. Without their energy I am sure the team would not have
lasted the full season. I believe they benefited from playing with the older guys and their experience. The
increase in the U17s confidence and maturity on the field was very satisfying at the end of the season.
Their growth throughout the season was a key factor in our success; especially in the very intense finals
matches.
We started off disjointed and frustrated in first grade as we all knew how we wanted to play but the
results were not going our way. Reserve grade quickly cemented into a team and the results soon
followed for them. Unfortunately, the 1st grade frustration then began to impact the reserve grade squad
as players went missing and other foolishness. By mid-season we had passed the worst of it and a core of
solid players remained who were committed to seeing the season through.
Due to the determination of all the remaining players in wanting to see the season through we finally
started playing as a team and finished the season quite strongly. Since the majority of reserve grade
doubled up and played the remaining matches for first grade it meant we were a much tougher team at
the end of the season. The reserve grade squad were used to playing stronger opponents and were not
intimidated by that. This was key to their success in the finals matches where they overcame quality
oppositions.
I would like to thank Tom for not only assisting me throughout the season but for giving me someone to
discuss things with during the season. I would also like to thank Wayne & the French’s for their assistance
each week. Finally, thanks to Rahimi for running line most weeks for us also.
We now have a core squad of good reliable players with strong team morale. I look forward to playing
some enjoyable soccer next year.
