Newsletter Friday 20th November 2015 Bingo Night A very big Thank You to everyone who participated and help organise last night’s Bingo Evening and I am very pleased to tell you that a profit of £621.65 was made which will go directly into school funds to help purchase science resources. Forest School Please note that the Outdoor Forest School sessions have now finished until after the Christmas Holidays. Number and Play Course These sessions continue next week at Ysgol Maes-y-Llan on Wednesday 25th November with the topic of Position. There will be a free crèche for your Nursery Child between 1.00 and 2.45 p.m. TGI Friday Night at the Wynnstay Hotel, Ruabon A reminder that there will be a TGI Friday Ladies Night held next Friday 27 th November at the Wynnstay Hotel, Ruabon to raise funds for school. There will be stalls, demonstrations and raffles taking place throughout the evening and the bar will be open! The event begins at 7 p.m. and everyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun. Tickets at £3.00 each (which includes entry into the door prize raffle) are selling fast. If you would like to come along, please contact Dawn Jones (mum to Amber Year 4), Nicola Rush (mum to Abigail Year 5), Rachel Thomas (Teaching Assistant in Nursery) or call into the Main School Office to purchase your ticket. AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS Maths Club The Maths Club for the children in Years 5 and 6 usually held on a Tuesday will finish for this term on Tuesday 24th November. Activities Club The last Activities Club for this term for the children in Years 1 and 2 will be next Wednesday 24th November CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS Christmas Dinner As you are aware, Christmas dinner will be served in school on Thursday 8 th December. We would like all our pupils to have dinner on this day and have sent out a pro-forma. If you have not already done so, please could you return this on Monday morning. The meal will cost £2.20 for infants and £2.25 for juniors. Please note that payment for Christmas dinner should be made on Monday 7th December, together with any other meals your child would like for next week. Children currently eligible for free meals will be provided with a meal as usual. Concerts Tickets for the concerts are £2 each and you will receive details and an order form from your child’s class teacher early next week. This year the children will be performing in their Christmas concerts in the school hall on the following days: The KS2 children (Classes PH, RE and JL) Tuesday 1st December at 1.15 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. Wednesday 2nd December at 6.00 p.m. The Foundation Phase children (Classes SG,AT and BB) Monday 7th December at 1.45 p.m. Tuesday 8th December at 9.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Wednesday 9th December at 6.30 p.m. The Nursery Nativity will take place on Friday 11th at 9.30 a.m. in the hall all parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles are welcome to attend this short performance. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Christingle Service The choir will also be taking part in a Christingle Service at St Mary’s Church on Sunday 13th December at 4.00 p.m. There will be pews reserved in Church for us and we would like the children to meet inside the church at 3.45 p.m. All pupils should be in school uniform and you are all very welcome to join us as this is a community event. Nightingale House Once again, Christmas novelties costing £1.00 each will be sold in school over the next few weeks with all proceeds going to Nightingale House Hospice. If you would like you child purchase one, please could you send the money into school in a clearly marked envelope.
