2009 -2010 City Council Installation of Officers
Topic: Jacksonville City Council Installation Ceremony will be held on Wednesday,
June 24, 2009, 12:00 noon. The ceremony is held to install the Honorable Richard Clark
as 2009-2010 Council President and the Honorable Richard Clark as 2009-2010 Council
and the Honorable John “Jack” Webb Vice President. In accordance with Council Rules
the positions will become effective July 1, 2009. (Invited attendees will include the
Jacksonville City Council Members, Constructional officers, Judges, Duval Delegation,
Congressional Representatives, and Members of the appointed Boards and Commissions
of the City of Jacksonville, Members of the Duval County School Board as well as the
public at large.)

11:00 a.m. Chamber Doors Open – recorded music, will play for 45 minutes.
11:30 a.m. All invited guests will move to their assigned areas open seating within
Chamber.
11:30 am Family members of President and Vice President will take their assigned seats
in the Chamber.
11:30 a.m. Council members will convene in the Robert O. Johnson (Green Room).

11:55 a.m. VOG says “Ceremony will begin in five minutes.”

Rescue Honor Guard
Pledge of Allegiance led by McKenzie and Keegan Clark
National Anthem to be performed by Rebecca Hewitt
City Council President Ronnie Fussell presented an award to an outstanding City
employee who works diligently for our city, often in unspoken ways. This year’s
recipient was Linda “Lin” White who was presented the Robert O Johnson Award.
Also, the outgoing Council President Ronnie Fussell recognized an outstanding member
of the City Council for contributions made the previous year. This year the Charles D.
Webb award was presented to Council Member Arthur Graham.
Council President made his final remarks as 2008-2009 City Council President.

Mary: Thank you Ronnie. Your colleagues and your community thank you for your
steadfast leadership and unwavering commitment.
The Honorable Donald R. Moran, Jr., Chief Judge, Fourth Judicial Circuit Court of
Florida swore in John “Jack” Webb as Vice President of the Jacksonville City Council.
Vice President-Elect Webb, and his son Michael please came forward.
Following the oath VP Webb made his remarks as VP 2009-2010. (See scanned copy)
Chief Judge Moran Fourth Judicial Circuit to swear in Richard Clark as President of the
Jacksonville City Council.
President- Elect Clark would you, your wife De’Atra, daughter McKenzie and son
Keegan please came forward.
Council President Clark calls CP Fussell to the podium and presents him with the Past
President’s plaque and moves forward with giving his remarks as incoming Council
President for 2009-2010. (See scanned copy for speech)
CP Clark calls and Mrs. Fussell to the podium and presents her with flowers from the
Council.
Mary calls Chandler Fussell and Ronnie Fussell who presents flowers to Mina Hosseini.
CM Fussell thanks everyone again and presents the perennial award for the Melody Starr
Anne Bishop Community Involvement Award.
Mary Baer congratulated President Fussell, President Richard Clark and Vice President
Jack Webb.
Benediction by Reverend Father Cody of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
