Objectives : Grammar: 1. Given sentences containing infinitives or imperatives, learners demonstrate knowledge of verbs by identifying infinitives or imperatives and their conjugation or by using them in context;
2. Given sentences with the irregular verbs “possum”,” volo”, “nolo” and “malo”, learners demonstrate knowledge of these verbs by using them in context and by applying the form to the correct subject;
3. Given forms for adjectives in different cases learners apply the correct form in context, by making the adjective agree in gender, number and case to the noun it refers to. – Vocabulary
and Derivatives:
1. Given stories about Britain, learners read with comprehension by identifying or translating vocabulary in stories about England, or by paraphrasing stories into English or by answering questions about the above stories.
2. Given vocabulary words related to Roman Britain, learners define derivatives by recognizing their Latin base and by researching the English derivatives in the dictionary.
Culture:
1. Given information about Roman influence in Britain, learners explain such influence in
England by identifying historical characters, such as Salvius, by giving evidence of their life and by relating 5 facts about Roman influence.
2. Learners use Latin actively by making a Valentine Day card in Latin combining Roman and American symbols.
