Mrs. Ley’s Classroom Procedures
First and foremost, I’d like to welcome you to a new learning experience at Frankenmuth High School. I am pleased and honored to be the class
facilitator/teacher for this group of students. It is my hope that my honest desire to help all students succeed and my 30+ years of experience in the
classroom, as well as in government, business, and industry will promote a valuable and comfortable learning environment for this learning group. I
have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education, Secretarial Science with Vocational Education Certification in Business Education.
As we begin the school semester, it is appropriate to state the classroom policies and procedures to facilitate an educational learning atmosphere. In
addition to the following, it is expected that the student handbook will be adhered to. Failure to abide by these stipulations will require administrative
review.
1)
Be in your assigned seat with all necessary materials when the bell rings. Failure to do so, will result in a tardy.
2)
Take care of personal business before reporting to class. If an emergency arises, planners are required as hall passes. PLANNERS must
be brought to class. Random planner checks will take place. If you do not have your planner, you will lose points.
3)
Most importantly, we treat each other with RESPECT and in a professional manner. This classroom will operate like a business.
4)
Copying assignments from another person is not acceptable. IT IS CHEATING. A zero grade will be given and the student will be
reported to the office. Each student will have his/her own place to save on the server. Students are NOT allowed to access another
student's files!!!
5)
It is the responsibility of the student to approach the teacher regarding any work, tests, or quizzes that were missed because of an
absence. The student will be expected to report to the classroom before/after school or lunch on the day of their return to schedule a time
to make up any missed assignments or tests. If this procedure is not followed, a zero will be earned for the missed task.
6)
Students are expected to be ON TASK from BELL TO BELL.
7)
PLEASE--NO FOOD OR DRINKS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.
8)
Our seating arrangement is tight! Refrain from touching your neighbor’s materials, computer, or body. Acts of this nature could be
misconstrued to indicate harassment or inappropriate activity by our administration.
9)
If you have a question, raise your hand and wait to be called upon. If the question or comment is irrelevant to the material we are
discussing, write it down so that you can see me about it afterwards.
10.) Skyward will be used on a regular basis to administer daily assignments and special instructions. Students are expected to check their
Skyward accounts each day for new information.
11.) A common grading scale for all classes can be found below.
12.) For each day an assignment is late, the score will drop 5%.
13.) Extra Credit: Request permission at least three weeks before the end of the marking period. The extra credit itself will be due the Tuesday
before the last week of the marking period.
14.) If you want to listen to music while you are working on assignments/projects, you must bring your own headphones.
15.) Ask your parent(s) or guardian(s) to read this guide so they will know what is expected. Also, have them sign on the line below. When the
slip is returned and signed, you will receive credit for your first homework assignment.
I hope each of you will enjoy your experience in this class and leave with skills that you will use for a lifetime.
