Chinese Economic Association in North America (CEANA) is organizing several sessions
at the conferences of the Western Economic Association, Southern Economic Association, and
Allied Social Science Associations. Members and nonmembers are invited to submit papers for
presentation and/or serve as discussants and chairs in these sessions. In presentation, please observe
the following conditions:
1. Each submission of the paper must be accompanied by a submission fee of US$20 unless at
least one of the authors is a member of the association. In the latter case, please indicate
which author is a member.
2.
Multiple submissions by the same authors to the same conference are not encouraged.

President: Professor Chong K. Yip, Chinese University of Hong Kong
Chong K. Yip is a professor in the Department of Economics at the Chinese University of Hong
Kong since 2001. He is currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Macroeconomics and
Global Journal of Economics, as well as in the editorial council of the Review of International
Economics. Chong’s research areas are in macroeconomic theory and open economy
macroeconomics. He is currently working on the topic of factor substitution and economic
growth based on the normalized CES approach. Chong was an associate professor of economics
at Georgia State University when he left for Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994. He
received an M.A. in 1986 and a Ph.D. in 1988 from Penn state University.
Vice President: Professor YiLi Chien, Federal Reserve Bank of Saint Louis
YiLi Chien is a senior economist at Federal Reserve Bank of Saint Louis. His main research
areas are in macroeconomics, household finance and asset pricing. His recent papers studied the
relationship between asset pricing, household portfolio choice and wealth distribution in a
heterogeneous agent economy. YiLi received a B.A. in economics from National Tsing-Hua
University in 1996, a M.A. from National Taiwan University in year 1998 and a Ph.D. from
University of California at Los Angeles in 2006.
Secretary-Treasurer: Professor Jen-Chi Cheng, Wichita State University
Jen-Chi Cheng has served the CEANA for years. He received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt
University and is currently the chairperson of the Economics Department at Wichita State
University. His research interests include international financial markets and applied
econometrics.
