DAVE POWER (Matt)
Dave Power was raised in the town of Rutherford, New Jersey, a suburb just outside of New York City. His
interest in acting started in high school and he soon decided to make it his profession.
Upon graduating from high school, he enrolled at Fordham University in Bronx, New York and also took acting
classes and workshops in Manhattan. The hard work soon paid off. He found an agent and started auditioning
in New York, while still attending college.
In 1999, Dave auditioned for a lead role in Universal’s ensemble war drama, “U-571.” After numerous
auditions, he was cast as ‘Tank,’ a machinist mate who gets stuck on a German U-boat with his American crew,
and must fight to escape the ensuing German Navy. “U-571,” which stared Matthew McConaughey, Harvey
Kietel, and Bill Paxton, shot for six months in Rome, Italy and Malta. The movie marked Dave’s feature film
debut. Upon returning to the United States, Dave decided to move to Los Angeles and work full time at
pursuing his acting career.
Within a few months, Dave was cast in HBO’s epic World War II mini-series, “Band of Brothers.” The series,
which was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, brought Dave back overseas to film for two months
in London. He was cast in the role of Dietrich, the first soldier of the “Band of Brothers” to die. Once he
returned to LA, he continued to build his film and television resume. He reunited with his “U-571” co-stars,
Matthew McConaughey and Bill Paxton, in Paxton’s directorial debut, “Frailty.” He then starred alongside
Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Marisol Nichols in the NBC movie of the week, “The Princess and the Marine.” He
has guest starred in over 15 primetime network shows including, “ER,” “Six Feet Under,” “Malcolm in the
Middle,” “CSI: Miami,” “Crossing Jordan,” “One Tree Hill,” and “Cold Case.” He also appeared alongside
Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the critically acclaimed independent feature, “Latter Days.” Dave can now be seen in
the recently released teen comedy, “Dirty Deeds,” alongside Lacey Chabert and Milo Ventimiglia.
