Video Assignment
Name:
Period:
Cracking the Code of Life
Objective: Students will generate a useful set of notes summarizing the major points of
"Cracking the Code of Life."
Directions: While watching the video there will be 16 sections focusing on a particular topic.
For each section, students will use a given set of words to construct a sentence which
summarizes that section. Students will write on a separate piece of paper the section title
followed by a statement that uses all three terms. The section titles and word lists are in
sequential order. While watching if you miss a topic you can watch the video online at:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/genome/program_t.html
If students are watching online, the divisions are clear on the Web site. If watching a videotape
or DVD, the breaks are easy to follow.
