In addition, the major ‘Architecture Design’ follows the “Architectural Accreditation Program” recommended by the

03. Number of Students to be Admitted
There is no set quota for the number of international students to be admitted. Candidates are selected
upon review of their academic ability, through a special admission process for foreign students.

04. Eligibility to Apply
Eligible to apply when international applicants satisfy all of the following requirements
1. Nationality: Female foreign nationals whose parents are both of foreign nationality.
2. Education: Applicants must meet the following academic criteria.

3. Language Proficiency Requirement: Applicant must meet one of the following language
requirements.
A. The certificate of level 3 or above in Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) for undergraduate
application, and level 4 for transfer or graduate application
B. The following minimum English proficiency test scores: TOEFL(PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80), IELTS 5.5,
TEPS 550
C. High school diploma or a bachelor’s degree from Korean or English speaking institutions
D. Recognition as possessing sufficient proficiency in Korean or English language by Ewha Womans
University
※ Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) and English proficiency tests (TOEFL, IELTS, TEPS) are recognized only if
the transcript is submitted by the application deadline. However, those who take 30th TOPIK(April 20~21, 2013)
can submit the test identification and should submit the final transcript by May 30, 2013.
※ Applicants admitted to undergraduate courses with TOPIK score of level 3 must earn level 4 prior to graduation.
※ Applicants who satisfy the qualification with English proficiency can only be admitted to International Studies,
English Language & Literature, Economics, and Business Administration. But an applicant who applies for
academic programs other than that, can be admitted only if the applicant obtaining TOPIK level 3 within a year
after admission or TOPIK level 4 before the graduation.

05. Evaluation
Applicant will be accepted for admission through a comprehensive evaluation of her academic ability,
achievements and development potential, based on submitted documents.
※ A screening interview may be required of the applicant when necessary. An overseas interview or a telephone
interview may be arranged for overseas applicants.

07. Application Fee
The application fee is 50,000 Korean won (or US $50).
※ Applicants must make a payment when they submit their application.

08. Important Notice for All Applicants
Basic Precautions
A. Any matter not specified in this admissions guide with regard to the university’s special admissions
process for international students will be pursuant to the decision of the university’s Admissions
Review Committee.
B. Details of the evaluation process and scores shall not be disclosed.
C. Those who fail to submit the application fee shall be excluded from consideration for admission.
D. In case the applicant is found to be ineligible for application, or has made any misrepresentation /
alteration to the submitted documents (including those submitted by proxy), or has perpetrated any
other kind of fraud, the university may deny or revoke the applicant’s admission or enrollment. This
applies even if the fraudulence poses no immediate effect on the applicant’s passing of admission.
Those whose admission or enrollment is denied or revoked for this reason may not reapply for
admission to the university in the future.
E. Incoming students are required to undergo a physical checkup administered by the Ewha University
Health Service Center (scheduled for the beginning of each semester). If the student is found to have
an intractable disease or physical defect that may interfere with her academic performance, she must
comply with the university’s decision to take a leave of absence or to make other arrangements.

• Every important announcement during the admission
period will be delivered via e-mail, phone number, and
address that applicants specified in application form.
Therefore, applicants should fill out the personal e-mail,
cellular phone number, additional phone number, and
postal address correctly.

• Application fee should be paid during the online
application. Registration is accepted when application
payment is completed.
• If the online payment is not working, applicants have to
send an e-mail to the Office of Admissions
(enter@ewha.ac.kr) and process the additional

B. The deadline for application is May 10 (Fri), 2013 at 17:00 (Korea Time). The Application is accepted
when the application fee is paid and required documents are submitted. However, if the internet is
disconnected by unavoidable circumstances (ex. local situation), applicants may register through
postal mail or in person without online application. In this case, applicants must submit all the required
documents including application fee within application period (April 8, 2013~May 10, 2013) in order
for application to be accepted.
C. If the submitted documents are incomplete, or the application fee is not submitted, the applicant shall
be excluded from consideration for admission.
2. Submission of Required Documents
A. Register application form via internet, print out and fill out the Ewha Womans University application
form, and submit with required documents by postal mail or in person.
B. Applicants must submit the original documents. If a copy is submitted, it should be submitted with
Authentication from the issuing agency. If the documents cannot be verified by the issuing agency,
applicants can receive Authentication by Ewha Womans University during the submission period.
C. Documents which are not in Korean or English must accompanied by a notarized translation into
Korean to English.
D. No submitted documents or records will be returned to the applicant.
E. The Office of Admission may ask an applicant to submit additional documents not listed above, if there
is a need to verify the authenticity of submitted materials.

F. In case where the applicant is found to be ineligible for application, or has made any

3. Notification of Admission and Scholarship Result
Admissions and scholarship notifications will be communicated through the Office of Admissions website
(http://enter.ewha.ac.kr) and via personal e-mail.
Notice for Admitted Students
All Admitted students will go through a registration process.
At each stage, the individual student will receive specific information (period, method etc.) via
e-mail. Thus students should specify the e-mail address correctly when writing the application
form.
1. Reply to the Letter of Affidavit
A. Registering students must submit the Letter of Affidavit during the specified period (at the beginning of
July).
B. Letter of Affidavit can be sent by postal mail, in person, or e-mail.
C. Subsequent registration process will only be applied to students who have submitted the Letter of
Affidavit.
2. Obtaining Medical Insurance and Submission of Insurance Certificate
A. All admitted international students must obtain medical insurance.
B. Applicants who already have insurance should submit the insurance certificate during the specified
period (at the beginning of December).
C. If the applicants do not obtain the medical insurance, issuance of the Certificate of Admission may be
limited.
※ International students have to maintain medical insurance during the period of attendance. If the
students do not maintain the medical insurance during the period of attendance, issuance of proof of
enrollment may be withheld.
3. Tuition Payment
A. Admitted students who are planning to register, must pay for the tuition fee during the specified period
(in the middle of July) to the designated bank.

B. Students receiving admissions from more than two universities in Korea, must choose only one
university. If the students violate this rule, their admission offer will be revoked.
4. Submission of Additional Documents for Admitted Students
A. Students who have submitted TOPIK test identification when registering online application, must
submit the transcript by May 30 (Thu), 2013 to Ewha Womans University. If the test result is below
our qualifications, admission may be cancelled.
B. Chinese applicants residing in China need to submit the following documents during the specified
period (at the beginning of July) in order to issue the visa. ①A copy of valid passport ②A copy of ID
card ③Copies of parents’ ID cards ④A copy of household register (with whole family members on it)
⑤Official documents that verify the family relationship between the applicant and both parents
⑥Student’s own original bank statement (Minimum of 10,000 USD valid) ⑦The original Certificate of
Graduation with a notarized certificate (except for students who already have submitted this during
the application period).
C. Concerning the certificates (including transcripts, diplomas, etc.) given by foreign institutions, students
must submit the “Confirmation documents from a foreign educational institute”, or “Confirmation
document from consulate or embassy” which are certified and verified by the Korean Embassy where
the institution is located. If the students are from countries for Apostille certificates, they can submit
an “Apostille certificate” issued by the government where the institute is located.

5. Certificate of Admission and Student Visa
A. Certificate of Admission will be given to students who have completed tuition payment, medical
insurance, and submission of additional documents.

B. Students must obtain a visa on their own.
C. The Office of Admissions will exceptionally apply for visa issuance number to the Immigration office in
Korea for admitted Chinese students staying in China. Admitted Chinese students have to submit the
required documents for visa issuance number (Please refer to 4. Submission of Additional Documents
for Admitted Students Clause B). Individual student will get visa issuance number after 3~4 weeks,
and they need to visit the nearest Korean consulate or embassy in China.
6. Dormitory Application and Entrance
A. Students should apply for dormitory when submitting online application.
B. Those who apply for dormitory during the admission period have priority to enter the dormitory.
Availability of entrance will be individually notified during the registration period.

7. Orientation for freshmen students and Course registration
There will be an orientation for freshmen international students and course registration at the end of
August.
8. Course Opening and Physical Check-up
2013 incoming students are required to undergo a physical checkup administered by Ewha University
Health Service Center (slated for the beginning of each semester). If the student is found to have an
intractable disease or physical defect that may interfere with her academic performance, she must
comply with the university’s decision to take a leave of absence or to make other arrangements.

B. Selection Method
Recipients will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of their abilities and potential as a global
female leader, based on submitted documents.
C Scholarship Notification
The scholarship result will be notified with the admissions result.
D. Note
The Ewha Global Partnership Program Steering Committee may reduce or revoke the scholarship award
upon review, should the recipient fail to fulfill eligibility requirements for reasons such as inability to
continue attendance at the university or conducts unbecoming a students of the university.
