Course Objectives/Goals
The overall goal of the course is to provide students with basic and introductory
knowledge about drilling technology, though some areas looked into intensively. Rig
components and equipment, terminologies and drilling techniques are discussed. Drilling
fluids formulations and technology, deviation techniques will also be discussed. Students
are also exposed to basic pressure concepts, formation and pore pressures, basic well
control techniques and associated drilling problems.
