SE Region - Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Routing Instructions
for John Deere Network Shipping
Deere & Company Worldwide Logistics has developed the following routing instructions and
procedures for suppliers shipping John Deere factory orders destined to locations listed on our
Legend Guide for Bill to Coding and Final Destination Labeling.
1.) This LTL routing applies to shipment weights between 151 and 12,000 lbs.
2.) This LTL routing does not apply to shipments being made on any truckload routings, existing
milk runs, truckload consolidations or shipments normally made on John Deere Fleet.
3.) For each John Deere shipment destination address, fill out one Bill of Lading showing the final
destination name, address, city, state and zip code. At the bottom of each bill of lading, sum up the
number of pallets/containers and the total weight being shipped to that destination on that day. We
require you to coordinate your LTL shipments so that no more than one carrier pickup per day is
made and only one bill of lading is issued per destination address.
Also please note on the Bill of Lading that the freight charges are to be 3rd Party Collect to:
US Bank PowerTrack (Bill to Code ____)
c/o Deere & Co. One John Deere Place Moline, IL. 61265
(___) is the John Deere purchasing factory as coded on our Legend Guide for Bill to Coding.
This will ensure the freight is allocated to the appropriate John Deere factory as per the purchase order.
4.) If the final destination of the shipment is located in the “Midwest” section on our Legend Guide,
please fill out an additional Bill of Lading with the John Deere destination information as follows:
John Deere Consolidation 432 2nd Street, Rock Island, IL 61201
Sum up the number of pallets/containers and the weight of all shipment bill of ladings destined to
the “Midwest” for that day and write in the total number of pallets/containers and weight in the
appropriate sections of this Cover Bill of Lading.
This is called a “Cover Bill of Lading” so that AAA Cooper Transportation associates know that
these shipments need to be shipped to the “Midwest” via the John Deere Consolidation rather
than through the AAA Cooper Transportations usual LTL network.
Attach all individual bills of ladings behind the Cover bill of lading and tender them the driver as
one whole shipment.
NOTE: Even if there is only one shipment on a given day, a cover bill of lading must be provided.
5.) Using the Legend Guide as a reference, attach the corresponding Final Destination Label for
the John Deere destination code on each pallet/container of freight. Adhere the label to two
consecutive sides of the freight in the upper right corner (please do not put a label on top).
These labels are in addition to any other required labeling and can be taped on.
This process provides visible routing instructions for the entire pallet/container to the LTL carriers
as they can clearly be seen from the forklift seat, providing efficiencies in routings to John Deere.
6.) If a shipment is destined for Export outside of the United States, please include Customs
Papers with your shipping documents to insure timely clearance at the Borders.
7.) For parcel shipments 150 lbs. or less, please contact Fed Ex for ground service.
Parcel shipments are those with an aggregate weight up to 150 lbs. If the dimensions of the
parcel shipment exceed standard parcel specs (i.e., greater than 130", length + girth) then the
shipments should be routed as LTL.
8.) Please make certain that this information is shared with all associates responsible for shipping
John Deere factory orders. If you have questions on these instructions or need further assistance,
please contact Dan Dougherty at 770-388-2132 DoughertyDan@JohnDeere.com or Brad Brickson
at 309-765-8342 BricksonBrad@JohnDeere.com at Deere & Company Worldwide Logistics.
