The Ottomans ruled Anatolia, western Persia, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, western Arabia, India, Southeast Asia, North Africa and much of Eastern Europe from 1290 to 1924. The Ottonians were a dynasty of Saxon rulers founded by Henry the Fowler, but is known as Ottonian after its three principal figures: Otto I, II and II. The Ottonians ruled Germany and Austria from 919 to 1002.
