Jackie Caples spent some time in the hospital last It is interesting to find people that have a hard time trusting others. It makes you wonder, is it just because they are unwilling to put their faith in something or someone other than themselves? Many people will go through this world not trusting in what God has instructed us in His word. They just can’t seem to have faith in Him. I guarantee you that these same people put their faith and trust in other things or people that could actually kill them. So when we step back and look at life we find out that faith is central to all life. For instance think about this something that people do all the time. People will go to a doctor whose name they cannot pronounce and whose degrees they have never verified. He gives you a prescription you cannot read. You take it to a pharmacist who you truly do not know or even possibly have never seen before. He gives you a chemical compound you do not understand. Then you go home and take the pill according to the instructions on the bottle. All while trusting the doctor and pharmacist, and trusting in what you have taken will not harm you or even worse, kill you. Wow that takes faith! Jesus described himself as a physician wanting to heal those who are sick. He would give the prescription for people to get well: “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance” (Matthew 2:17). Jesus gave His word for all man to hear and He had Paul write those words, a “prescription” to have filled, that we would take and be healed. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). We have to go to the word and consume it to be healed from the disease of sin. How amazing is it that people will put their faith in man (doctor, pharmacist) but not in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Ernie week but is home now Tom White has been ill with Bronchitis.
