Common Assessment #5
Layered curriculum allows you more choice in your assignments. Each layer requires a different level of
thinking. Layer C is the most basic knowledge for the unit. In order to earn a “C” grade (75%), you need
to complete the amount of points required for that layer. Layer B requires you to apply the knowledge
you gained in Layer C. In order to earn a “B” grade (85%), you need to complete the amount of points
required for Layers B and C. Layer A requires you to think critically about the unit, and to make text-totext, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections. In order to earn an “A” grade (95%), you need to
complete the required points for Layers A, B, and C. Electronic copies and directions for each assignment
has been posted on my school web site. DO NOT lose this log sheet! If you lose it, you will be required
