Using a balanced approach to the four linguistic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, learners will build an understanding of communicative, grammatical, and cultural aspects of the Francophone world. Chapters 1-5 of Interaction will help the student master complex linguistic structures and expressions in French; the supplemental reader, Le Comte de Monte-Cristo will help develop vocabulary and reading skills. The program also includes an important cultural component about the Francophone community. This course is designed for students who have studied the equivalent of three semesters of college or three years of high school French.
