SUNDALGEKAR Summary ======== I, Sanjay Sundalgekar have done Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Gogte Institute of Technology, Karnataka University Dharwad. I have five years and seven months of experience in software industry. Presently working in Hewlett-Packard India Software Operations Bangalore, India as Senior Software Engineer. Have previously worked with Wipro and Motorola India. I have been involved in designing and developing solutions on systems running SVR4 Unix, Solaris and HPUX using C, C++, PERL and Shell scripting languages. I am aware of the latest technologies and been actively involved in full project life cycle from client’s requirements to development, testing and implementation. I am willing to learn and adapt to new technologies. Have proven analytical ability, co-ordination skills and have good technical knowledge. I possess good written and oral communication skills and am a quick learner. Have a good understanding of software Development life cycle (SDLC) and software engineering processes. Technical Expertise =================== Languages: C, C++, Shell Scripting, Perl Operating systems: UNIX SVR4,Solaris and HPUX Debugging Tools: gdb, DBX Configuration Management: Clearcase Protocols: Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol, Socket programming Database : Oracle Professional experience ======================= Presently working as Senior Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard India Software Operations. Have an industry experience of 5 years and 7 months. Previously worked with Wipro Technologies and Motorola India. Project Experience: ================== With Hewlett-Packard : ---------------------Project Title: HP Process Manager. Team Size : 6 Description: HP Process Manager (HPPM) is a workflow management system. It is intended for automating the business processes. HPPM provides the Page 1 following functionalities. A facility for defining and deploying the processes. A user interface to start a process and process the work item assigned to an end user. A process engine that controls the process execution. A resource manager that controls as to whom a particular work should be assigned An audit trailing functionality to generate a report on status of the processes in the system. Project Title: Open Element Management Framework. OEMF is an open management framework that allows dissimilar network management applications supporting different network management functions to be integrated in a seamless fashion. OEMF consists of following components. Fault Management Server (FMS) which provides fault management function such as alarm logging, correlation, problem management, topology management etc; GUI Server (GUIS) handles user actions from GUI clients and interacts with the FMS on behalf of the client to fulfill the desired functionality. GUI Client (GUIS) allows the operators to access OEMF functionality from a variety of client platforms. OEMF/MD (Mediation Device) which provides mediation functionality allowing alarms generated by network equipment supporting different protocol/interfaces to be mediated and normalized into limited CCITT X.733 Alarm Reporting format; Integrated software product which provides integration to other management functions such as trouble ticketing, performance management etc. With Motorola -------------Project Title: Multimedia Messaging Services(MMS). Software: C and Solaris Team size: 8 Description: MMS is an extension of SMS(Short Messaging Services), where in audio and video can also be transmitted and viewed from the mobile phones. In MMS, all the applications comply to a definite framework and the activities are controlled by Application Manager. The applications fall under event driven, run to completion model. The MMS architecture is such that, abstraction is provided for the application so that any new application can be easily plugged in without any changes to the architecture. With Wipro ----------1. Project Title: Sustenance and Maintenance of Parallel Upgrade Tool (PUT) for NCR Corporation, San Diego (U.S.A). Software: SVR4 UNIX, C, Perl, Shell scripts Team size: 4 Client: NCR Corporation, San Diego (U.S.A). Description: The project was initiated with the aim to provide code fixes for the defects and enhancements reported in Parallel Upgrade Tool running on SVR4 Unix Operating System. The team at the India Development Center (Bangalore) is an extension to the existing Sustenance Team at NCR (San Diego, USA). PUT is a tool to automate the upgradation process. PUT facilitates Page 2 upgrading of many packages on any number of nodes. PUT takes care of package transfer, pre upgrade steps, upgrade and post upgrade steps. It uses the browser to give the user interface so that upgradation can be done remotely. Also PUT has a feature called VM&F (Version Migration and Fallback) that boots Unix system with different boot environments facilitating fallback mechanism for different images of software. 2. Project Title: Customer Support Facility on Nodes (Nodecsf) Team Size: 1 Client: NCR Corporation, San Diego (U.S.A). Role: Analysis, Design and Development, Testing and Quality assurance of the product. Details: Nodecsf is the software that does automation of fault detection and providing recommendations on the NCR 3700, 4200, and 5100 machines. Thus nodecsf helps in delighting the customers with reduced down time and ready recommendations for the known faults. These recommendations are provided after querying against a knowledge bank of known faults. 3. Project Title: Teradata Team Size: 5 Client: NCR Corporation, San Diego (U.S.A). Role: Analysis, Sustenance, Testing, integrating different modules of Terdata and Quality assurance of the product. Details: Teradata is a high-end database that can handle data as large as terabytes. Teradata software consists of DBS module, which is RDBMS part, and PDE (Parallel Database Extension) that achieves parallel software environment. PDE is an interface between DBS and Unix kernel. Teradata has been developed such that given a query it is executed in parallel on a group of virtual processors to achieve higher efficiency. Teradata consists of three types virtual processors, AMP (Access Module Processor), PE Parsing Engine) and Gateway vproc. AMP vproc is meant for storing and retrieving data from the disk, PE vproc does parsing of the user queries and Gateway vproc is responsible for maintaining sessions between a client application and Teradata.
