I had been collaborating with them since April 2002. Before joining the current job where the above said writers are also consulting editors, I was involved in the research of their forthcoming work on the Afghan war of 1840. Research on the project includes finding details on the lingua franca between the English officers and their servants, living conditions of the Afghans, their culture, and the Diary and writings of the Indian servants about their English masters and their life style during this period. I was the researcher for semi-biographical novel “The Long Strider”, authored by them, which was a British Council Project on an early 17th century English writer, Thomas Coryate, who on his visit to India, died here. The research involved the study of the social milieu, dress-codes, cuisines, climatic conditions, roads and communication set-up under Mughals, and cross checking the records of English and European writers vis a vis the records of official Mughal courtiers. The research was finished by April 2003 and the book was launched in the month of September 2003. 1 JUZER MOHAMMED HUSAIN The job profile as Chief Image Researcher & Archivist for Wisden India included: Built the single largest collection of cricket images, which covered the beginning of Indian cricket, its past, present day glorious moments and the collective achievements of the various Indian teams. To complete this project it required me to find and contact past Indian cricketers, and approaching them to share their private collection of photographs, highlighting their personal achievements also. Co-ordinated with contemporary Indian cricket photographers and accessed their database to the complete this record. Transferred the entire collection of the images to a digital format. Furthermore captioned every image with its in-depth information, so that their access by image library software is simplified. Ethnic Strife in Nagaland – This was a project undertaken at Xavier Institute of Communications [XIC] as part of our media studies. It included sourcing of information – books on tribes, newspaper clippings, historical accounts and journals. I was the chief co-ordinator and chief researcher for this project. 2. You Can Be Heard - This project at XIC was part of our audio-video media studies and included highlighting the successful achievements of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.vis-à-vis its Telephone Adalats. The project included researching statistical information with regard to the telephone adalats, their awareness among the general public, and their effectiveness and efficiency in disposing of the telephone related complaints. 3. Jai Hind – This was a private assignment for Feel India Television/Cosmo Television. Research included an in-depth study and compilation of data on varied subjects for a quiz programme, commemorating the golden jubilee of India’s independence. Subjects included regional festivals, cuisine, architecture, freedom fight etc. Besides this I had also provided research for a travel book project on Kerala, which was being planned by the publishing division of India Book House in 2000.
