BC Directory for "Henderson's Gazeteer and Directory for
1905"
By Henderson Publishing Co, Vancouver, July 1905
Vol. 12
(This directory was dictated into a tape recorder at the BC Archives, then transcribed by
the author during the winter of 2002 for book research purposes. Additional data was
transcribed from tapes made at the Archives 1 Nov 2005. To be absolutely sure of the
correctness of the data and the spelling, please refer to the documents in the archives. In
many cases, only those people integral to the story are included. However, in most
instances, particularly in the case of the rural unincorporated communities, all the
people in the directory are listed. )
(In the advertisements at the beginning of the directory is a full page from the Thiel
Detective Service Co. This organization played a major role in the story of the
investigation of Bill Miner’s robbery at Ducks. They were in competition with the
Pinkertons, and actively cultivated the CPR and the BC Provincial Police for business.)
