Emphasis is placed on security technologies, products and solutions; and on firewall and secure router design, installation, configuration, and maintenance. The subject covers authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) implementation using routers and firewalls and security the network at both Layer 2 and 3 of the OSI model, intrusion prevention system (IPS) and virtual private network (VPN) implementations using routers and firewalls.
