Unmas Learn About PIMNAS in UB

Mahasaraswati (Unmas) Denpasar visits UB on Wednesday (10/03). The visit is
related to Unmas' preparation to be the host of National Science Week (PIMNAS)
XXIII next July. The reason Unmas chooses UB is because UB has become the best
host in the previous year's PIMNAS. "On our whole experience in participating the
PIMNAS, we acknowledge that UB is the perfect host. Our visit today is like a child
who wants to imitate UB's achievement," said I Made Suryawan SH, Vice Rector III,
who is also the leader of the group. Rector, Prof Dr Ir Yogi Sugito and the staff of
Vice rector III Student Affair accept the visit in the 6th floor of UB Rectorate
building.
On his speech, UB vice Rector III, Ir H R B Ainurrasyid, MS described that online
registration is very helpful on the process of the PIMNAS. "You should not do it like
we did; the student came at 7 in the morning, and they got served on 2 in the
afternoon, we didn't even give them water," he gave an example. The statement is
supported by Prof Dr Drs Abdul Hakim MSi, Expert staff of Vice Rector III Fields of
Reasoning, who said that the registration session significantly affects the image of
PIMNAS held by the university. "First day experience is significantly affects the
PIMNAS participant's evaluation," he said. Abdul Hakim also describes the technical
process of PIMNAS XXII in UB starting from the main duty and function up to the

The question session went on longer than planned. Discussion on the policy and
technical aspects of PIMNAS is asked by Unmas. Vice Rector IV Unmas,
Dr.Ir.Nyoman Utari Vipriyanti, M.Si, express her interest on the online registration
system for PIMNAS that is described by Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Mathematics
and Natural Sciences, Dr. Agung Pramana W M MSi. "If it is possible, we want to
leran about the online registration system and the software used by UB," she asked.
Ending the question session, Abdul Hakim said, "I think the only problem on the
PIMNAS that we held is when the president cancel his coming to open the
competition. Yet the event is still went on smoothly. Besides, other obstacle that we
had to face is we have to coordinate with the Directorate of Research and Community
Service (DP2M), even for the stage color, it has to be approved by DP2M," he said.
Abdul Hakim, as the committee secretary of PIMNAS XXII UB advised that the
coordination between the DP2M and the local committee should be seriously noted.
"The coordination is not only before the PIMNAS but also on the process, which also
related to the position of central committee's hotel room and local committee's, which
is placed nearby," he said.[ai]
