Dear ACCA student,
We are all delighted to welcome you at Pantelis Stylianides Institute of Accountancy.
Our Institute is one of the leading tuition providers of the ACCA qualification and other accounting
and related courses in Cyprus, offering you adequate flexibility and study options.
Our main focus is to offer at affordable prices high quality lectures and genuine support throughout
your course. You can exchange emails and phone contact with any of our tutors without any time
restrictions. Together we can maximise your chances of a pass.
We mostly base our courses on face-to-face classroom tuition, as the classroom has always been
the most popular and traditional route for you to study towards qualifications, such as the ACCA.
Many students like the face-to-face interaction with a tutor, which the classroom offers. We
are renowned in the marketplace for the quality and consistency of our classroom tuition. You can
study in the classroom with us, choosing from a range of weekday, weekend and evening study
options at our local training centre.
For the coming semester; leading to ACCA June 2011 exams, all of our courses commence in
January. In this booklet, you can find our timetable and all the relevant registration forms, terms and
conditions.
We would like to emphasise the importance of the highly intensive-exam standard-revision
courses that are provided a month before the exam period, leading to the students success.
In addition, we would also like to inform you that we increase the variety of our courses, by offering
the ADIT (Advanced Diploma in International Taxation) of CIOT (Chartered Institute of
Taxation). The Diploma was developed and supervised by leading international tax practitioners and
academics. This course meets the needs of international tax practitioners working in the corporate
area and who increasingly need an understanding of more than one taxation system (for more info,
see next pages).
Finally, we strongly recommend though to any students, to keep studying and revising throughout
the course, in order to abolish all the unnecessary stress until exams. However, from our side we
were and we will still feel committed to getting you through your ACCA exams and the whole
qualification. We are so confident in our teaching quality, study materials and course design that
look no further than a training specialist to help achieve your ACCA training goal.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further queries.
We wish you all the best at your studies.
Kind regards,
From the Management

1. Introduction of the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation – ADIT
Our Institute will provide the above qualification by March 2011. A briefed explanation of ADIT is
given below. Members are encouraged to register with CIOT and start their exam preparation at least
three months in advance of the examinations which are held annually in May. The specific course
dates, structure and fees will be announced to you shortly. Please contact us personally for more
information.
Explanation
This is an opportunity for ACCA students & members, to prove their expertise in international tax
and gain a specialist qualification from one of the world's most respected professional bodies. The
Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) is particularly relevant to qualified accountants
with a tax background who are looking to specialise further in international taxation.
ADIT overview


holders of the Diploma are entitled to use the designatory letters 'ADIT' after their name and,
on payment of an annual fee, to describe themselves as 'International Tax Affiliates of The
Chartered Institute of Taxation'
it is offered exclusively through The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT).
To gain the Diploma, candidates need to be able to demonstrate:



knowledge of the principles of international taxation
in-depth knowledge of international tax issues for their primary jurisdiction
an awareness of basic tax issues, particularly in relation to international tax, in at least one
secondary jurisdiction.
Structure
The ADIT has three components:
Paper I - Principles of International Taxation
This paper focuses on key issues such as principles of international tax law, residence, double
taxation conventions and treaty interpretation, transfer pricing, the work of the OECD and
international tax avoidance. It is not country specific.
Paper II - Advanced International Taxation - Primary Jurisdiction
Candidates are expected to have a detailed knowledge of their home country's tax regime regarding
international tax matters. Options available are Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the
United States.
Paper III - Principles of Corporate and International Taxation - Secondary Jurisdiction
This paper is designed to test an awareness of the key features of the corporate tax system,
particularly in relation to international tax in a secondary jurisdiction. Candidates are expected to be
able to answer questions in relation to a 'non-home' country, without being expected to offer detailed
advice on that country's tax system. Options available are the United States, the European
Community and the United Kingdom.
