HEALTH-2007-2.3.4-3: Bioprospecting for drug leads.
Abstract
Keywords
The project includes Extraction, bioactivity guided fractionation, isolation and
purification of natural products from Egyptian natural sources (terrestrial and
marine). Followed by unambiguously structure elucidation. Finally retesting of
the pure active compounds in order to confirm the biological activity of the
isolated natural products. The biological Activity tests includes cytotoxic
activity, antimicrobial activity, anti HIV.

Commitment/Work
to be offered
Extraction, bioactivity guided isolation of natural product from Egyptian
natural sources. Structure elucidation for the isolated bioactive natural
products and retesting of the bioactive compounds.
Our team can offer: - rotatory evaporators and associated vacuum pumps.
adsorbents (silica gel, sephadex )
solvents (methanol , DCM, Hexane )
UV Lamps
We can proceed all steps regarding extraction isolation
and structure elucidation of the active constituents in
our lab at the pharmacognosy dept. faculty of pharmacy
Alazhar university.
