Criteria
Graduating HDSB student who is participating in HDSB OYAP/SHSM electrical program or is
an Electrical Apprentice through the OYAP / SHSM program






Grade 12 College Math and English
80% overall mark or higher in Grade 12 College Math, English and Electrical
Good Attendance record
Good management of tools
An overall willingness to help and learn
Recommendation letter from Coop employer

NOTES:

Starting Dates will be July and/or August (negotiable)

All Apprentices are subject to a 90 day probationary period

It should be noted that there is a significant monetary value to the contribution that IBEW
invests in each Electrical Apprentice

Contingent upon passing the basic aptitude test administered by the
IBEW/ECAH Joint Apprenticeship Committee

At this time only students enrolled in the MM Robinson HS Electrical SHSM/OYAP

To be Eligible you must
 Be participating in the HDSB/OYAP Electrical program, or is an Electrical Apprentice through the
 OYAP/SHSM program. Student also demonstrates desire to pursue an electrical trade postgraduation. Candidates will be required to pass the basic aptitude test administered by the
IBEW/ECAH Joint Apprenticeship Committee.

On 2 separate sheets of paper, please provide short paragraphs detailing why student should
receive this award - one paragraph from student and one from nominator.
Please also include your current resume and transcript.
Please include 2 letters of recommendation with this application. One must be from your co-op or
technology teacher, and the other may be from an employer or a relevant member of the
community.
